I applied, CAE forwarded my C.V over a few weeks ago and did not get an interview.

However I was told by someone that some recruitment was slowing down a while ago and 5 direct entry captain courses were cancelled.

Not sure whether that was true or I was not meeting their requirements :)

Phenom100 22nd Sep 2010 10:11

Can anyone shed any light on current recruitment at RYR, i have heard a few rumors that recruitment has now ceased until next year...is this true?

SupaMach 22nd Sep 2010 20:54

I don't think it has slowed down.

A lot of my friends from a recent int. course have been interviewed and more are being contacted.

They've already phoned me once and emailed me twice.. within the last week, with an invite.

josecr1980 28th Sep 2010 13:41

I don't understand, it seems as if assessments were running almost on a weekly basis...then why some of us are being totally ignored???

Could somebody tell me whether it is only a matter of CV's being chosen randomly? or on the contrary, there is actually someone reading and rejecting them because some people don't match requirements...

I have been preparing this interview for a long time and it is annoying and discouraging to see how finally I am not going to be given a chance...I sent my CV almost 5 months ago, I have 500 hrs TT and an engineering master degree.... am I so stupid for thinking of being called????

Does anybody know if age is really so important?... I am 29, will be 30 in a few weeks... this is the only reason that comes up to my mind right now...

Thank you in advance and good luck to all those that are being called!

SupaMach 29th Sep 2010 03:01

It is random, top of the pile.
I applied and didn't hear back (good track record etc) for about 3 months whereas people who applied, numerous fails etc, got lucky, and heard the next day. (I was told there is a trend that if you apply late on a Thursday, you may hear on the friday..).

Finally got a call and a couple of emails, but have already started with another airline.

The adviceI hear from my fellow grads is to keep applying through SAA and get yourself to the top of the CV pile. (I only sent it in once, perhaps why I didn't hear back straight away)

Good luck.

Hi,
I was on the assessment on the 22nd Sept. I've also not heard any news back from Ryanair. The wait is not a lot of fun!
Hopefully in this case no news is good news!

Iceman4956 4th Oct 2010 19:00

Any info welcomed:ok:

Hey there,

I am just about to complete my application to FR however it still takes around 2-3 weeks to get my licence issued.
I heard that sometimes it takes FR a longer period to get back to you.
Do you think I should complete the application in advance?

Thanks alot for the help.:ok:

22nd Sept Assessment

I was on the Assessment on the 22nd of September and still not heard a thing. The wait is absolutely awful :ugh:. It's nearly been three weeks since the assessment so I'd have thought I'd hear something this week!

Listen guys, if anything you need to be patient. Especially if you intend to work here! Things can occur in an instant or can alternatively appear more drawn out. It isn't only potential cadet hire where this occurs. This is the typical practice within any large airline. It isn't hurting Ryanair having you wait around, whether you have passed your recent assessment or not. They may and probably do have more pressing concerns. The training department (to whom you are dealing with) does after all have the job of co-ordinating the training and checking of 2300 EXISTING pilots within the company! There are quite a few things occurring here at the moment.

A new RST (recurrent simulator training) program is in the process of being constructed and trailed for each of the 2300 pilots to undertake from early November.

Command Upgrade (CU) slots will continue to take priority, so co-ordination of simulator and line training for new commands is and will remain the focus

A number of TRE, LTC and SFI positions have recently been advertised internally. These candidates need to be trained. This requires further sim scheduling.

We currently have the crew numbers required to operate the winter schedule (end of October to beginning of April). With this in mind and with the other requirements that the training department must focus on, future cadet hire can drop down the list of priorities. It is not to say that it will be ignored. It is also important to know that a number of TR courses are still occurring.

The crew numbers for summer 2011 are still being churned. Again the concern will be Captains (it always is). There will be a number of 'leavers' over the winter (Emirates, BA, etc) so more uncertainty. Yet that is probably good news for future intakes.

Above all, be prepared to sit it out. There is no time frame, rhyme nor reason. Frustrating; however you had better get used to that. Good luck

RYR assessment

Dear all,

I've an assessment next wednesday at STN for RYR, I've read the 95 pages of this forum, I'd like to know if someone has done the assessment recently,
the only clear list that i've found is from GANOZ on page 87, but it's from 2007,
if someone has got more recent list i really be glad to have it, specially concerning the theoritical interview.

thank you very much.
