Skyways- this is the ATP thread the course will take 3 weeks to complete and get in the pool.
There are ATP's now completing a type rating who were in the pool for around 3 years and there are also ATP's completing a type rating the week after finishing the AQC course.
Remember though that most of the airlines have finished recruiting for this summer so the cadet pool is expected to fill again. But you never know what may come up and clear the pool again.

Robert that isn't terribly fair. One needs to be in it to win it - only then can one be lucky enough to secure employment. Sitting aside and doing nothing or having a heart full of hopes wont change a thing. The risk is yours.

Re Holding Pool and Jobs
I read a few pages back that Qatar had taken a few chaps from the holdpool.
Does anyone know if these were integrated or Modular AQC guys?
Also, does anyone know if its only short contracts - Easyjet etc that are offered to the guys in the holding pool?
Many Thanks

I have my assessment this coming Tuesday (27th March). Unfortunately I only had the email saying that I'd been successful for stage 1 last week, so I haven't had an awful lot of time to prepare for it.
Any tips on what the interview and maths questions are like these days? My revision time is limited, so I'm really after the best areas to focus on.

You are provided with pen and paper Vipersrt10, but you aren't allowed to use calculators.
It's 15 questions in 15 minutes, and you can go back to check our answers. It is multiple choice with three choices and expect percentage, fuel consumption, specific gravity, currency, square/cube root type questions.

I would like to ask you a question.
I have sent my application for CTC Wings ATP three weeks ago, and I have just teceived an automatic mail saying they had received my application.
Did you wait for a long time before receiving the date of assessment or is it a matter of weeks?
Just to keep prepared in time .
Thanks for the answer.

Hello to all...been following the thread for a while now and I am considering this scheme.I'd like to thank the contributors to this forum as I've found the information to be very helpful. The last post mentioning any sort of movement on the pool was in mid march, when some people claimed that the cadets pool was empty. My point is,how many cadets course finish every month,or are schedule to finish in the next 3-4 months, plus, what's the situation now?anyone getting calls(or anyone you might know) from the ATP pool?I'll have to make a decision eventually but Before I visit the Flyer exhibition on saturday and put my application through I'd like to gather as much info as I can,and obviously the ones coming from CTC will be biased.Cheers

How many people in the pool?
Why don't you ask them how many people are currently in the pool? It's a funny question really. I got a good laugh when they told me " 30 to 40".
So they've set up this ATP pool for when the cadet one is empty, are handling recruitment and selection for massive airline companies, but don't know exactly how many people are in this pool?? Really??
Truth is, it's apparently in the low 60's. Cadet flow has been quite low from the end of 2011 and start of 2012, but picking up as we speak. It's hard to get any reliable info as they like to keep it secret.
SKY 85: read the forums and please don't head into this sort of program without get proper info

Just heard a guy has had his assessment day cancelled as they have met there requirements. I also heard through someone who had an assessment this week none of them in his assessment got through... coincidental?
This hamper my chances?

I wish we could just get the facts.
So far I've heard that the hold pool had 34 people swimming and the Wings pool was empty, then I heard that both pools were empty, then I've heard that CTC were considering closing of the AQC to externals and only CTC modular trainees could undertake it.
So many rumours, really is quite ridiculous. The fact is it's basically ten grand for a 36hr JOC and some unwritten promise of perhaps the opportunity to part with another ten for a TR with an airline then work 500hrs or whatever just being paid 'expenses' or flight pay only to have to face the real possibility of then ending up back in the hold pool again.
Fact is no one actually knows any bloody facts! All I know is I can't get a job with EZY, Monarch or Thomson because they have an agreement with CTC...this probably also extends to QR, dragon and CX....who knows who else is to follow. The EZY contract doesn't have much value left in it so I would hazard a guess at more ME/Far East stuff.
