What is the job offered by Cathay and Qatar to ATPs and cadets?
Maybe Second Officer. How does it work?

Do you know if it is similar to Easyjet scheme.(10.000 pounds for A320 rating)

Cheers,

aap29 - The CX deal looks pretty much identical to the deal we were offered months ago, and the same deal you get from applying directly with CX through their website. The only difference is I suppose you are more likely to get an assessment going through CTC? Even of you get through it's another 6 months training in Adelaide before becoming an SO, and then a few years before becoming a JFO.

The QR deal we haven't seen. I think it's just cadets that have gone there, unless I'm just not high enough up the list to have seen the deal.

The 10 ATP people that have gone to EJ seem to have got the best deal really. But we just don't know when they might offer the same again, as for all we know the cadets might fulfil the requirement for the next 2 years. Who knows.

It would be useful to know what the likelihood is of us being offered EJ or another FO deal in the immediate future before thinking about the CX deal but we only have a few hours to decide.

Hi lads (and lasses),

Has anyone recently sat an ATP assessment day? If so, and if you don't mind, could you PM me? I have a few questions.

Personally, I'd go for it. 9K isn't to be sniffed at, but can you risk not getting an airiline job? What are the alternatives?

At the worst, you'll get an MCC (and a JOC...?)

ex-wings cadet...(first post under anonymous name) The AQC course is operated with a mixture of wings, iCP and ATP guys & girls. The wings cadet pool is nearly dry. A few numbers are completing IR + AQC every month, but not enough

ATP people are now being contacted with options for Cathay Pacific, easyJ & Monarch interviews.

I left the wings pool many moons ago but know a number who are about to join and a few who have just gained jobs; plus a small number in the atp pool. I cannot comment on specific numbers

Actually, having this precise information would help me to make the good choice it's to say going to CTC to take the ATP Course or not...

At the end of last week the precise figure was 34, this came from the boss. There were 7 cadets in the wings hold pool but they were all spoken for with regards to airlines making the wings hold pool 0.

It was also said that they were hoping to increase numbers of ATP cadets as it wasn't good for them to have an empty pool. Now would probably be an excellent time to apply.

I was considering in joining this program, but from what I just read, I don't think it's a safe bet.

Has anyone been called to an Airline after completing this program at CTC, and how long was the waiting period??

Regards

I spoke to somebody from the CTC recently to book reassessment dates, and was told that the Cadet pool at the moment is empty!

This was last week, no promises I was told, but was "good" time! Who knows though, my cynic sides tells me not to get to excited about them! Still, if cadet pool is empty, that should be a good sign! (Unless they have all gone to RYR)

...in which case does anyone know someone who has been called from the ATP pool yet? I suspect those who may have been called, if any, will be too busy to read this thread!

Surely an empty hold pool is only any use for those graduating in the next few months? How can now be a good time to apply since they could be only coming into the pool 16-18 months in the future?
