Hi
I have my COMPASS test next week at BAA for the WizzAir scheme.
I have already completed the maths test online with someone watching me via skype, are there additional maths and physics tests on this day also?
In terms of preparing for the test, is latestpilotjobs.com, or pilotaptitudetests.com more like the tests that are completed on the day?
Thanks!

How did you prepare for the online math test? Is it similar to e.g. latestpilotjobs.com?
Thanks?

Hello everyone,
Just like I was, many of you are interested how does Profile XT look like and also the COMPASS test.
Now just to clarify at the beginning, I will not tell you exact questions as this wouldn't be right towards the Academy and the Airline.
Regarding the Profile XT test....
It has around 185 questions. Most of them are "Yes and No" questions. For example " Do you think ......... " and then you can answer with yes or no. The Profile XT contains some Math parts like basic operations of multiplying, dividing, adding and subtracting. Pay attention to the order of operations " () " and decimal positions. Also you will need to determine which number is the next in sequence. Beside Math, there are some questions where you have to choose an activity which you would rather do. It is very important that during the Profile XT you do not lie, but answer truthfully. The test is constructed in a way where the examiner can notice throughout the test if you have lied and at which point. As many have said, there is no right or wrong answer.
Many, just like I have, wonder which software is good for preparation for COMPASS test. I can speak from my experience, but I am sure other software are good as well. I got the ShyTest Middle East package for around 80 EUR. This will be more than enough for your preparation, however do not underestimate the tests. Again, I will tell you on which exercises to pay attention. When I practiced in SkyTest I always used the most difficult settings. Don't get depressed if you have bad results. In reality, the test is easier, but the preparation has to be harder of course.
So, you want to focus on the exercises for memory (memorizing sequences of numbers, like heading, altitude, speed, radio freq), hand, leg and eye ordination exercises (basic coordination test). Pay attention to the orientation part (Bearing Determination Test). If you google this you can find more about it. For the attention part, Autopilot and Signals Processing you can check. I would recommend you to pay attention to tracking accuracy test within SkyTest preparation.
You really do not need preparation for the profile XT. Math and Physics part on compass is basic high school knowledge, all operations, order of operations, proportions, momentum, force, how does a jet engine work.
For the interview just be yourself, truthful and relaxed.

I'm thinking about going for BAA Wizz Air 2017 intake, but have to do some financial planning beforehand - hopefully someone could help me out.
I'm trying to figure out how financially ruined (and for how long) would I be if I went for BAA ATPL with Wizz Air. Only thing I've found about FO salary with WA was old post from pprune from 2012 - does anyone have any more up-to-date info on the topic? What's the basic pay, sector pay, how many sectors realistically could you do per year etc...
I was told that WA will sponsor your TR and 700EUR will be deduced from your salary each month (25k EUR in total as far as I remember, so probably payments for around 3 years). If you top it up with additional 68k loan for the course itself, monthly payments will be definitely significant (surprise, surprise!), around 1400ish EUR p/m for first three (ish) years and then 700ish EUR for next 7 years. How does it compare to the FO salary?

I recommend you to check on pilotjobnetwork to find salary information, it's pretty much the numbers which were given to us.
Otherwise, read the previous pages of this forum, as far as I remember, some other Infos were given.
About the monthly repayment, it should be more around 450-500 Eur per month during 3 years.
For the loan, it all depends on your country I would say. For example, as French we have very interesting student loans (around 1% 1,5% fixed rates), so you pay around 700 Eur per month during 8 years for getting 60k Eur.
Just an example but it can be different in your country, I even guess it is.

Ben,
Thank you for the info. In advance sorry for sounding possibly naive, but this sort of salary system is quite new to me. I understand you're on the course / working for WA? If so, could you please confirm if that looks realistic to you:
For SO (freshly off the training),
Base = 20'000E
Sector = 300*27E = 8100E (Old entry on pjn states 300-350 sectors per year in PL are standard)
Sector Bonus = 300*15E = 4500E (assuming mid-range bonus for each sector
Flight Day = 220*54E = 11880E (assuming 220 working days)
SUM=44480E
I got the figures off pilotjobsnetwork, however I'm uncertain about the "54EUR gross/flight day completed for FO" and the sector bonus, so they might be calculated wrongly... Also, apparently the salary is subjected to the Swiss tax, am I correct?

Tlipiec, no worries I totally understand , you are not familiar with this kind of system. About the sector pay, you overestimated the numbers a little. My infos on the wages are approximativ and not definitiv. From what I was told, your salary depends on the number of sector you do per day and their length. Then you have a scale for those different rates.
As a FO afer the training, you should be around 35k brutto but then have to substract the TR deduction from your salary.
And yes from what I have the salary is subject to the Swiss tax system

Ben78,
Cheers for the reply, I had a feeling I'm being on rather optimistic side when I did the maths Anyway 35k EUR per annum in Eastern Europe is still a pretty figure. Now off to banks to find out how many kidneys they require as a deposit...

Still waiting for that.....
I wonder if the group is still scheduled to start in September. If I remember right, initially the interview with WIZZ was supposed to around end of July. We shall see.

because i was told the second day with wizz was supposed to be in the 27th of july, but no one actually got the inv yet (according to my conntact in baa).
there's a chance those 2 that are starting this september did the assasment day with wizz last time and decided to start in september instade of june?

In my case they delayed the Wizz interview with almost a month. And after the interview we had something like 6 weeks until the start day. Oh yeah, and they announced me the interview date with something like a week in advance, but I heard about guys being called with 3 days before.

If it is the same case as the one you had, then this group may not start in September. This brings me to a question how do you know those two persons are for sure starting in September?
Would anyone like to share some tips for the Wizz Air interview?
