Actually Lufthansa is only partly sponsored, but you only have to pay once you work with them (60k € to be payed by the cadet). The same is true for Air Berlin now, however only very few places compared to Lufthansa (30 vs 260 or so per year).

Smell The Coffee,
I probably shouldn't have listed it as a Sponsorship but it does have certain advantages. It does have a conditional job guarantee which of course still doesn't make it a sponsorship, but makes it more attractive and beneficial. Which I consider as a great option, hence listing it here too.
"What are the financial benefits?
In addition to the security of employment with NetJets Europe, successful OAA/NetJets candidates will benefit from a special Ab Initio Pilot entry First Officer salary programme. In addition to a Ab Initio Pilot entry salary of €36,500 per annum, NetJets Europe will also pay those selected for the Ab Initio Pilot Programme a further €20,000 pa towards repayment of any training costs until such time that the course training costs have been repaid (€56,500 in total for your first year of employment). It is anticipated a full training cost reimbursement will be paid off within 5-6 years of employment with NetJets Europe, at which time the Ab Initio Pilot entry First Officer switches to the First Officer salary scale with accrued company seniority from date of joining the airline."

NetJets Europe is not running the cadet programme any more. (We're not hiring at the moment)

Because 300+ existing pilots need to be recalled followed by another 40+ who were at varying stages through their training at OAA when told they would not be starting work.

SAX sponsor, visit their website. Cadet Mach 1 programme for guys with no experience. Have to sign a training bond.
Have you tried the airforce? although if you want to go that route be prepared to sign a long contract. I think it's about 15 years. Visit the CAA website and click on the careers in aviation link, they have some useful info there

I was considering the airforce but 1 of their prerequirements is that u mustn't hav had correctiv eye surgery nor wear spectacles (which i do).. I've also done the 'checkin every 7 days' thing in the SAX website bt some of their call centre agents tell me the program has been suspended. Got Capt. Laurie Kay's email (the guy running the program) but he's not a big fan of replying to his emails... Thanks thow therz a lot of online chatter about the SAA program comin back this year (they aparently made more profit lastyear) bt i'll keep checkin and bloggin
