The only language I can speak is english (not to happy about that) and I got a response. I think its a case of first come first serve and then filter them down to 6 F/O's.

3 (2 jet experienced-1 former employee) already are in ground course, 2 new will start soon. 5 spots still remaining. They received over 560 CV's to their own surprise. (source: belgian news) BA will sent everyone an e-mail. Good or bad news.
So chance is >1% but at least it isn't 0. That's why pilots love the lottery.

Sunexpress is hiring 24 FO's. So hopefully they get less than 2400 cvs.
737 type rating will be paid(?). University degree required do...
maybe a Ph.D. will be the next entry level

Not too sure about the first come, first served. I applied on 16th. Someone mentioned applying on the 17th and already has a response.

Bit of a lottery I think. Also, seems the people who got the replies (who have posted so far) have little or no jet time and only english language. Who know's what they're looking for?!?

May be it's because they clicked on that if they have no jet time and bonded they will stay with the company for about 3 years instead of F'in off when they start hiring again. Who knows all I care about is trying to get the job!!!

n'est pas??? Care to explain? Thats of course if it was for me!

The position is for the Avro RJ and its paid for and anybody with life experience will know that nothing is for free in life so bonding is more than likely going to happen. Thats a better option in the long run because you know if you get a 3000 houred pilot who is looking for work the minute his old airline starts hiring again he will quickly go back and apply again.

Thats just my honest opinion.

Don't worry about the n'est pas. You won't need it working for a belgian airline...

I misunderstood your previous post, my apologies. I thought you were implying a 73 rating or jet time would hinder ones chances of selection. However, as you correctly point out, the position is for the avro, so I can indeed be bonded in the same way as any other non-avro rated applicant.

Best of luck everyone!

Brussels Airlines is also starting-up a new operation in Congo under the name Korongo.

Could be that they are also looking for suitable applicants for that operation.

Didn't Belguim try and set up permanent operations in the Congo during the 1960s? (sorry, couldn't resist).

Applied 21th and no answer till today. Low hours with some jet experience on the A320, I think they are giving priority to Belgium people.

joaocaracol : Did you send them your bank account number? It speeds up the application processing time.

He applied on the 17th. Got a reply the 18th to fill out an application form and retun etc.

He's fluent in French, German, English, Icelandic.
No type rating and a about 1500 hours.

If you have experience on A320 so you're type rated. Isn't it ?
Lot of airlines are afraid of other type rated pilots, they could leave as soon as they find a better place. With A320 type rating and more jet experience, you will easily find something else maybe closer, better pay, etc...
I'm not fully in true, just illustrated

tttoon: why would an airline pay for your type rating in today's market?

P.S. Lighten up

Because they are looking for long-term employees perhaps, and want to invest in them? with the taxes in Belgium and no bond (SSTR = less bond) you'll be gone in 60 seconds when the economy clears up because you need to pay off your debt asap. And thats easier with double the wage. By the way, Thomas Cook Belgium paid 4 typeratings very recently. SNBA will pay for 10-20 people. Not everybody is RYR.

PS. who exactly is the gloomy one in this conversation?

Well they would probably find enough guys willing to pay for T/R but there are some airlines still paying for T/R (Like Lufthansa, Brussels Airways, Air Berlin....) that is just a fact of life...
