Doncaster digs.

I'm not having a go at Doncaster! But looking for digs when I start flying up there with Britannia. Any help would be greatfully accepted. Maybe any other guys starting up there would like to get together. Any one know what it's like up there in that neck of the woods?

I instruct just north east of Doncaster and here's my advice. Anywhere east or south east ie Lincs you will find plenty of small nice market towns. Bawtry is your nearest small town about 1.5 miles south and although has a busy road it has plenty of nice housing and a large amount of good pubs, butchers and quality oriental food!

Bawtry for location and general enviroment although you will be under the flight path almost. Take the A631 west and you will passs under the A1 into Tickhill again very nice and about 10 mins away. Don't keep going west though because you will end up in Maltby.Don't go their.......ever, CHAV central.

Retford to the south is good for the A1 and looks ok as i drive through it, again an old market town.

Good luck

Could always try Sheffield. Probably about 40mins from the airport.

Nice area, Peak District not too far away, Meadowhall for shopping, Sheffield also has a great nightlife due to couple of Universitys and its threshers week in the summer!!!!

Any specific questions feel free to post and I'll do my best in answering them!

I lived in Bawtry when I was based at Finningley, and loved the place. There are also a lot of very nice little villages (with excellent pubs) out to the east of Finningley, though you might struggle for rented accommodation. I would do a search for estate agents in the area and get them to do the donkey work for you - it's what they're paid for! Good luck

Hi all

I'm also due to start flying for Britannia from Doncaster in the next few months.

Anyone that is in the same boat, please feel free to drop me a line.
