Why has "viewer" been taken off? Whilst the few comments I saw from him made it clear that he was a supporter if not friend of MOB but also clearly has a sexual predilection that makes me think that he has a certain frustration. Despite all that I believe in freedom of speech.Banning people from expressing their views in public is the sign of a very autocratic, intolerant society. No doubt fatwas will be issued next.

Hi to all the crew who have had lovely letters in the past few day, i know how your all feeling im in the same position and im sorry!
I know how much you all put into Emerald and how un appreciated we all at times felt, that goes for me as well but we all stuck it out!
I guess its time to take bets as to who will switch the lights out on the way out!! Glad its not me!!

yes that thought did occur to me, it just makes me so angry that with what everyone is going through, losing their jobs and livelyhood, worrying themselves sick about how they are going to pay their mortgages and feed their families, all this cretin can think about is his hard on for mobs girl. it shows total disrespect for his colleagues and displays his immaturity and quite franky second only to mob he needs a good kicking.

Really gutted to hear about Emeralds demise. It is a very sad day. Just wish the pilots and cc good luck in getting new jobs. The cc would be an asset to any company they were a top bunch. And if you can hand fly a 748 across Europe in the dead of night and deepest darkest winter, you can fly anything!! Good luck guys.

I have been following this thread with interest and much sadness. I and my other half worked for Emerald - me twice (lord knows why I returned), but I met a lot of lovely people, all of them "grafters".

I wish all the very best of luck, and with regards to MOB (I never found him attractive) lets hope it's true that what goes around comes around.

i travelled as a passenger on the emerald atp services to and from iom every 2 weeks. great fares and great service. i was really upset when they sold out to euromanx.....

but had the pleasure of the emerald atp crews when they were on charter to euromanx...but unfortunately couldnt travel with my airline of choice.

very sorry to hear of the company's demise...

always had a warm greeting in iom from the emerald ground staff...a great bunch of people.

Thanks to everyone who has pm'd me to say how sorry they are about the demise of Emerald. It's really comforting to know people do really care. Most of the Cabin Crew have managed to get jobs with Aer Arran. Not so easy when you have kids though! I am thinking of setting up a nude cleaning company called Buff it up if anyone is interested in employing us!...... No, it's a joke, but then again, maybe it's not such a bad idea. Fly4eva , you'd be good! ha ha..... :eek: ;)

Sorry if i've upset you Suffering spouse. I also have a mortgage, young son, on the wrong side of 40 and no jobs on the horizon. What has kept me going over the past few horrendous days is my sense of humour and the banter with other members which was one of the reasons i enjoyed workind at Emerald. Yes SK is very attractive, you can't blame them for that! once again i am sorry hope it all works out. if you don't laugh though, you'll cry, and yes, i've done that too!!!! :sad:

Anyone of you ATP Emerald guys in contact with Atlantic Airlines? They are hurting pretty bad for pilots with 3 ATPs online and a fourth to come soon.

Just out of interest, can anyone tell me if the ATPs were owned by Emerald (well, probably under mortgage) or were they leased from BAE Asset Management or another lessor?

I am fortunate to have departed before all this. Emerald may not have been the best run outfit but what were the CAAs reasons for suspending the AOC? They must have known that this would destroy the company and put a lot of people on the dole.
There had been a few instances with gear locking pins, tyre bursts and grass landings but these are very outdated aircraft and these will happen.
Those who have lost their jobs deserve to know that the CAA had good reasons for doing this( ie. the operation was unsafe) and not just a few paperwork irregularities found by a vindictive ops inspector with nothing better to do.
Would someone be kind enough to share this information for us interested parties.
Also, what about the shorts? is streamline going to rise up again to operate them?

Got my redundancy letter yesterday, still on the bright side I also got a letter in the second post telling me I still had a job....HOWEVER...that letter was dated four days before the first:{ . One of the shed guys I was speaking to seems to believe that the sheds and the contracts they were doing have been sold, as I say I don`t know how true this.

rumour has it freight flights starting out of Liverpool next week no news for who or who is flying them yet

Nobody has told why our AOC was pulled. I dont thinks the incidents stated were the real reasons. Seems strange that once our AOC wasn't restored after the last attempt(s) we all started getting our redundancy letters. Seems a bit quick off the mark what? No notice of redundacy which legally we were entitled to. Think the administrators have dropped a clanger don't you? Bit quick off the mark eh. Why was that? Were we check by the CAA for inso....y? Poor training records? Complaining about our opps Inspector PM? (not related to one of our Capt's with same surname) Running off the runway? Look at what Happened at Standstead with the footy pax's from Leeds. Didnt happen then? Track record of ignoring the CAA from the top. You can only take the uri..e for so long. All of the above or just one?

The lack of transparancy in the company hids all but the rumour network which our company staff thirved on!!!!

Steamline dead as a dodo. It didnt get absorbed into Emerald properly. They got the high viz jackets with Emerald on the back and thats as good as it got. Crews are waiting for their P45's. Only 4 sheds left flying out of a fleet of 14 originally came to Emerald I think? Didn't we do well. Sorry MOB & AJ. Not the opps staffs, engineers crews. You work as best as one can.
