I would like to see the budgie flying again, but not over my house... i used to set my alarm to those noises, unless of course the IOM was fogged out!

OPSQUEEN 2nd November 2006 12:36

:D
I know what you mean. My body is so conditioned over the years to being woken up at 0330 or thereabouts with the odd 748 coming back that I still keep waking up, even though it's so quiet now!

Happy Days bud ......

Have you not found anything else yet? This aviation lark its a mugs game!

OPSQUEEN 2nd November 2006 17:16

No - see my posts above re being led up the garden path by 2 cargo operators all summer. Could write a book about that lot. Weeks/months wasted and JobCentre not happy bunnies. Doesnt help when you have one of your 748 colleagues trying to stitch you up in Scotland in the first place, but he's had the last laugh anyway now.

I suppose this next comment is more pertinent on the Interviews site, but please, all you Companies out there, do not ask people in for interviews and promise them the world, when in actual fact there isn't a vacancy in the first place. The JobCentre does not like it and it does not do your street cred as a Company any good at all.

Yes, I will now be coming out of Aviation completely. With what I have just experienced over the summer and practically been bankrupted by these Companies and their false promises, obviously the future with these people would hold nothing better than Emerald had to offer, but I had a fantastic job at Emerald - I know is was b----y hard work and extremely trying, but it was (from a Secretarial point of view) absolutely great and I wouldnt hesitate in doing it again (no comments needed please re the higher Management as I am only talking about the work content here). Anyway I think 31 years is enough now to be involved in Aviation. There isnt any way to get back into Air Traffic as there's too much of a Peel versus ex Serco staff on at the moment. I know I have joked about it before, but I am really on the way to ASDA. At least there is stability within that organisation (people always will need food).

Cor, that was a bit of a marathon!! Hope no-one fell asleep.

Wonder if the respective Airports have been paid for any unpaid fees and charges???

OPSQUEEN 11th November 2006 08:58

Distinct possibility otherwise I can't see any Airport releasing the aircraft. Cant wait to see it get airborne again.

Hope so. Formation take off for the 2 from LPL :)

GBALU53 12th November 2006 08:53

Out standing fees must have been paid no airport would let an aircraft depart without them being sorted out.

The amout at some of the airports must be very large sums any way, so we can only wait and see this week but dont hold out for to much.
