A Sad Day
Having worked for Emerald back in 94 or so it's a real shame that they are no longer around.
Good luck to everyone in finding suitable positions. |
Tres bien
For any drivers out their. A Spanish outfit is taking over the remaining Westair 748s.(3) Running between Barcelona / Palma & Ibiza. They have a former EA engineer working with them for a short while. The guy from Oz ? Well the plan is to get them S to fly. Not for him but I have heard that a certain AJ is looking at LPL. 4 a/c at first then Maybe 2 more.
January 2007 onwards the grapevine says. May even eat my hat if that happens. |
Rumour also has it that the MOB is desperate so he is to resurrect with AJ as his only choice. Obviously cannot move on. :suspect:
What happened to people making a fresh start. Onwards and forward should be the case not backwards. |
Speednewsdotcom lists the following as being available:
"IAP Group Australia: five ATPs and 15 HS748's" |

Rumour Control has it that AJ will be resurrecting EA without the benefit of MOB's involvement. As mentioned 6 aircraft from LPL.

which part of EA ? Flyjem or freight services ? |
Dont get too excited, no formal aproach has even been made to the CAA.
2 aircraft will be involved to start off with, but with the RM vowing NEVER to be associated with certain individuals again, just who would they fly for ?? Most of the work has been taken on by other companies with newer more reliable aircraft. A little birdy tells me that the application will have to be a totally fresh piece of paper AOC submission and that can take a long time, a bond will also have to be lodged with the CAA (stanndard practise) and its unlikely that someone being investigated by companies house and HMC will be allowed to place that bond. Cant imagine that any FOI's will want to take on the hot potato, and for the unfortunate individual that does EVERYTHING will have to be done by the book, and by all accounts the AOC post holders that are being mooted may not be acceptable to the authority, particularly on the engineering and quality side. Whilst those out of a job may be tempted to join aborad, there are many many people determined to make sure that certain individuals never run an airline again, EVERYTHING from this new outfit will have to be paid cash in advance, they will get no credit anywhere, behind the scenes there are serious revenue investigations going on, you cannot go into administration the way JEM have done and come out of the other side expecting all those people you owe money to will let you do the same to them again. Best to move on, all this venture will bring is false promises, more lies and more unpaid bills and salaries. |

I is rumoured on another site, that the 360's are going to BACS and AJs new airline to be Southend based, with the ATPs and 748s to be delivered at 2 aircraft per month from January 07. It would appear that the new Australian company will do the maintenance on the fleet at Blackpool, supposedly on a third party basis.

"all this venture will bring is false promises"
How true. I'm beginning to find this is applicable to other Cargo Airlines as well. I know I like me gardening but I have never been led up so many garden paths in my whole life compared to the last few months. :ugh: Hey Pat, saw a good one this afternoon whilst passing an industrial estate in Flint - a fleet of wagons with Emerald LGV Training written down the sides. Not setting up shop are you?? Hope you are well mate :ok: |
Opsqueen, have you tried BAC Express.
Surely with their fleet about to triple they must be recruiting ? |

Published on Wednesday the 25th of October: "EMERALD AIRWAYS: FLEET SOLD THE fleet of aeroplanes operated by failed airline Emerald Airways have been sold to an Australian firm. It is not clear what the company plans to do with the aircraft – which include ATPs, HS748s and Shorts 360s – or how much the deal is worth. Administrator KPMG, called in after Emerald ceased trading, confirmed a deal has been reached which will see the fleet sold. The deal with PTB (Emerald) Pty Ltd is expected to be completed next month, if conditions are met. In addition to some 30 planes, including an ATP siezed by Ronaldsway airport because of unpaid airport fees, it is expected the remaining staff of 26 will be transferred to the buyer when the deal is completed. The KPMG spokesman said a separate deal with another buyer for Emerald's properties, in Blackpool and Liverpool, is under negotiation. The airline, which enjoyed a £25 million annual turnover, was grounded in May after the Civil Aviation Authority suspended its operating licence. The CAA said Emerald 'no longer satisfied' its licence requirements. With its income stopped, the airline was unable to meet costs and was placed in administration. Two weeks later 113 of the 200 staff were laid off. 25 October 2006 « Previous Page Next » Page 1 of 1" |

please dont think things will be better as long as the same people are involved things will allways be as they were -leopards never change thier spots.I cannot believe some people think this is a good thing your really want people like MOB working in your industry ?.They will fill you with the usual bull---- and sh-- on you from a great hight .If anyone works for these people who worked for them at emerald then you deserve what you get cause you will get it

Hello Mr Gimp
Quite right - but it must be highly unlikely those involved previously will be making a comeback into the limelight. Let's just get some of those 748s back into the UK skies again. |
Any more news on the AJ & MOB Venture? Nobody even know's what he is up to these days so my guess is they are just rumours and over reactions.
Do you know how sk is Opsqueen? |
Haven't got a clue darlin'
|
Who is the Spanish outfit? Do they already have an AOC.
