Has anyone heard any whispers about who may be in the running to buy the company or any of the aircraft??

>>[quote=Emeroid Eng]The people on the IOM will no doubt be working for one of Mr Janes many other companies, Emerald Airways IOM Ltd, Freshleave Ltd, Emerald 748 Ltd or Copperfayre to name just a few.<<
The simple answer to that, is 'NONE'. Comes a time when it's not just the job, or having a job that matters, but your own personal pride and ethics! Which it seems, are sadly lacking within the heirarchy of what was once 'Emerald'. We are just waiting for our notice and hoped for pay off! Then we are gone, as in, GONE!! There are enough jobs available over here to keep us employed, thank goodness. However it does not make up in entirety for the frustration and anger at being treated like the smallest mushrooms in the pack! Like the rest of us, I have a job already waiting. |

Contrary to speculation, the 'pheonix' that certain individuals in LPL have been telling clients/employees etc that would have kept JEM going in some format have pulled out of the running. Both I hear plan to sell off at least some the stock and have interest from around the world. There wont be any decisions this week, as I am led to believe that the main player in all this at the Administrators is on Holiday. |
I know its very lazy of me but please can you advise which UK operator is planning to buy JEM? I cant be bothered going through 20+ pages of thread.
:\ |
administrators on holiday?
bloody marvelous ! were all sat here waiting for some or any kind of payout! and cant remember the last time i had a holiday. cheeky b******s ! wat hell are balpa doing about any of this?? |
If you read my post NO UK operator is planning to buy JEM themselves.
TWO operators are part of each consortium that are trying to buy JEM, like I say most of the fleets may be sold/leased around the world, but a few aircraft, most probably the SD3-60's will continue to fly in the UK. A wholesale purchase then re start is TOTALLY unviable thanks to the efforts of the ex accountable manager in having his AOC revoked and the utter utter mess that the company is now in. |

I am told that KPMG tried extremely hard to sell to someone who wanted to keep the show going, again its not their fault that the mess the company is in has made it unviable for prospective purchasers to be able to do that. |
No news about poss takeover or anything else :ugh: only a few engineers doing some late spring cleaning, and I believe a few "downstairs" including MOB (they had an early stack though approx 3:30)
|
So the thread has degenerated into this. Pathetic!
|
MOB whereabouts
To those that are interested in MOB's whereabouts why not try MOBAND CONSTRUCTION Limited. Registered Address Sycamore House, Sutton Quay Business Park, Sutton Weaver Runcon Cheshire. Believed set up in 2003. All job applications to include detailed cv

Emerald Group
From a bit of digging around the 'Emerald Group' consists of various companies all of which are overdue in filling accounts at Companies House
Emerald Aviation Group 04985096 due 31 Mar 2005 Emerald Airways Ltd 02723459 due 30 June 2005 Emerald Airways Engineering Limited 024006284 due 30 June 2005 Emerald Airline Ltd 02815441 due 30 June 2005 Streamline Group Limited 04454388 due 30 June 2005 Streamline Engineering Limited 04084153 due 30 June 2005 Freshleave Limited 03188295 due 30 June 2005 Streamline Aviation Training Ltd 03907626 due 30 June 2005 Steamline Aviation (SW) Limited 02593410 due 30 June 2005 Emerald Airways Trading Limited 02778870 due 30 June 2005 So the question must be asked what Companies House have been doing to chase these up ?? Also what were the CAA doing all this time ?? As late filing is a criminal act there must be the potential for heavy fining of ALL Directors and if it were demonstrated that they acted ill adviseably they could be banned from acting as Directors for a number of years. My information is
MOB will definitely be on the 'tools' in his building company AJ back to his copper braclet KH will be property developing DH back to his offshore villa and the loyal Emerald staff scattered to the wind |
Whats your reference for late filing to be a criminal act? According to the companies house office failure to furnish accounts will invoke a fine dependent on how late they end up being filed. Failure to pay the fine will be referred to a debt collector and a judgement could be made against the company (s) in County or Sheriff court. Didn't see anything about the directors being held personally liable unless you are referring to them acting negligently in some way which is a whole different ball game.
Late filing link |
As the company is now deep into Administration (actually now no longer trading) I am led to believe that no action will be taken against any of the directors while any sale is going through. HM Customs and Ex and Companies House have been involved in the Administration procedure.
Getting back to any potential sale, the value of the 'stock' seems to plummet by the day as any potential buyer looks in depth at just how much money will be needed to get ANY of these aircraft flying again. The two 'potential' buyers have both adjusted their price, not to the liking of KPMG, and I have to say, I am glad that I am not a creditor, as you can bet your life that they are going to loose out big time. 7 different organisations have looked at the 'stock' and walked away, its a mammoth job to get any of this going again, I said last week to expect a decision, but I am hearing more and more that this may rumble on for weeks. If ONLY the Accountable Manager had carried out a few simple tasks:= |
MOB - Mad Or Bad
"If only" my Auntie had bollox she'd be my Uncle.
MOB was never going to be anything but arrogant, the more he received advice, the more he would do the opposite. Only his view was valid. MOB's peculiar skill would probably have been useful a generation or two ago on the streets of Whitechapel, flogging off dodgy fruit and veg from his barrow. Unfortunately he ain't smart enough to be a Costermonger. They have the wits to look after their customers and the social skills to interact with them. MOB lacks any understanding of the notion of goodwill and sees only the sale. Short-term was his speciality - if only it hadn't been. |

I have watched this thread develop over the last few weeks and I find it sad that so many professional people have felt the need to "hang out the dirty washing" .
I had some bad days at Emerald but also some great days. I enjoyed the banter with all the staff. I do think that sometimes we tried to fit a quart into a pint pot but then again some of the jobs we did were great fun. Why dont we try and remember the good days and post some of the funnier experiences we had whilst employed by Emerald, as I am sure there are many. Good luck to all those who were there at the end I am sure you will all find employment elsewhere, as I remember Emerald producing damn good pilots and excellent ops staff. |
Well, if you can call funny paying eleven grand for a type rating then being fecked around for a year waiting for a job that never happened I had a hoot.
As far as I'm concerned it's good riddence to bad rubbish. All the good folks will get a proper job - balls to the arses that that caused all the grief though! |
