B747 Classic Type Rating

I know every one would say to look through the forums instead of opening up a new thread, but could only find one post regarding this.
I need to know where are the 747 classic TRTOs available out USA (visa issues). Anywhere in Europe, Africa, Asia Far East Asia or Middle East? I have both FAA (CPL) and ICAO (ATPL) licenses.

I knew one here in Italy, OCEAN CARGO, located in Brescia Montichiari, they operated cargo flights between Italy and far east Asia (Hong Kong for instance).
but they don't exist now.
they had operated B747 Classic like you'd like to know.
so, do some search in internet and perhaps you'll find out some good news about Ocean Airlines...

p.s.: they were TRTO too in that time...

cheers !

no useful info on internet available on Ocean Airlines. They seemed to have closed down in 2008.

What about Air Atlanta Icelandic? Try to contact them, they still operate some B747Classics.
Good luck

Failing that, Bournemouth, UK.

Classic Training

Only ones outside of the USA are - 2 in the UK, 1 in Bounemouth, 1 in Burgess Hill. There is also a classic simulator in Karachi, Pakistan, but you will have retired from flying before you are able to arrange to use that one, and besides their prices are about double the ones in the UK.

Enjoy....

I know the prices for the one in Pakistan, its around 210USD per hour. Dont know if they would rent it out to an individual or if the PIA training center (where the sim is) would do it for individuals or not?

Jakarta ?

CBAFIL,

If Earl is right, contact hubby, one of his former flying buddies is actually in Jakarta right now (maybe for SIM recurrent as that is why he flies) could be coincidental. Anyway, hubby just talked to him yesterday and can find out for you! BOL !

There is also a Classic sim in Paris at CDG. Hellenic Imperial Airways from Athens use it for their sim training. They've just completed a conversion course there for a few new captains and FOs for their own Classics.

Google Hellenic Imperial Airways and give them a try ?

74 Classic Sims

To be concise;

Denver USA, UAL
Miami, USA, Pan Am, Atlas
Jakarta, INDO. Garuda
HKG, Cathay Pacific (soon closing)
London, GECAT
Bournmouth, UK
Karachi, Pak, PIA

The best deal to be had is generally Pan Am in Miami, where the old Aeroservice Facility was.

The best flying sim was UAL in Denver, where incidently, the Air Force One drivers train.

I may have missed a couple, but I have box time at all.

WHAT!

The best flying sim was UAL in Denver, where incidentally, the Air Force One drivers train.

I think not!!! All E-4 and AF one training is done by Atlas in MIA. Has been for the last 3 years and just had the contract renewed for another 5.
