Fellow aviators what is the skinny on this outfit? They are looking for CAPTAINS and FE`s to expand their flying? Any info would be appreciated?

Saw one in NBO last month parked next to ours. Looked in pretty decent shape from the outside. Looked like an ex Nippon Cargo machine.

All ex NCA birds. One flies in Saudie c/s on their routes, other two should be based a SHJ.
Despite being Armenian they seem to be a decent outfit.

1. Do not even attempt to compare VA to Midex. You have no idea what you're talking about.

2. There are 2 contracts offered. You have a choice if you want to be there full time with full on benefits or part-time.

3. You are an X employee who is sour. Of course you're going to try and bad mouth them. Creating a new name to do it shows you're a man of integrity. Right.

To work in the UAE, you have to understand that having the right to work here and be here full time makes it almost impossible to commute and is costly for any airline if you don't. Especially when employers in the UAE have to provide housing or housing allowance as part of your employment package. If you work for EK, Fly Dubai and I believe Etteeeehaaad, commuting is NOT an option. So you could easily say that you're 11 on and 1 off with them if you wanted to state it in a negative way. But it doesn't mean you don't have a life and time off. So if you have the chance to work here part time tax free making decent money with free housing yeah, you're going to need to be here more than 20 on 10 off. Flying crews home and back 2 continents away is not cheap. This is not a pax carrying US airline where you would expect a normal schedule. And alot of those airlines don't pay or provide a ticket when you choose not to live at your base.

The DFO is a good guy, very well respected and worked for the GCAA. Very hard to believe that he would advise any crew member not to write up anything.

Be careful what you say on here. Pprune is no longer a forum that allows freedom of speech. Just ask the boys in Aboo Daabeee

"Don't try to sell it as better than EK, EY or even FlyDubai as it is not even in the shadow"

1. Never did. Your perception of what you read is wrong.

2. For someone with your credentials and amount of work experience, perhaps you may want to spend your time more wisely such as build some tt hours from 650 to 1,000 ( just sayin..) rather than sitting at home to talk crap about an airline that DID NOT hire you ( although you claim offered you a job)and you didn't get to stay at the last one.

3. You're currently chasing a job in the ME. You don't think that people in HR won't look to see what you're talking about on aviation forums ? I guess in your situation they may not as you don't meet their required minimums anyway.

Don't hate. It does nothing for your bank account, your career or the size of your penis.

With other words, it is a dream job, I've heard that guys from UPS, FedEx and Cargolux are calling the HR department every day!!

The more UPS FedEx and Cargolux Pilots resign from present employers the better for those on waiting lists

Wink

What Sassy may be trying to say is that the job in the sand is OK if you're single/divorced, homeless, have no kids and no baggage . . .

Working n the chain gang

Don't forget Its an ok gig if you have 10 years left and your salary is tax free.

That is about the only good thing left really. It is not easy, you have to have a very open minded and willing spouse to relocate with you. Even harder if you have kids. Its definitely not for everyone.

Every pilots situation is different. There are low hour guys chomping at the bits to get wide body experience and build hours. Can't blame them.

And there are pilots who are being passed up by airlines with age restrictions such as 52, so to continue flying, they have to seek out international gigs.

If your a pilot somewhere in the middle, have glass cockpit time, then the world is your oyster! Definitely go to EK, EY, FD, etc.. etc. you have great job security, tax free salary, great housing allowance and nice perks. Yeah you fly more often, but it beats sitting in a crappy hotel in JED or RUH where there isn't much to do.

Best of luck.

Angry Contract in the Middle East

As anyone who has ever worked in the Middle East knows or will learn, any contract here means less than the sand script is written in. There is NO system in place to enforce any contract here.

Cool

And a few changing names remains at Moldavian/Georgian skies with their old 747 Classics.
Now we have The Cargo Airlines (Georgia) with ex-NCA's irons and GET-STAR of Moldavia with ex Skytrain/Ark Airways, reg now as ER-BBS:

JanetFlight: Thanks for the photo. Nice.

Now we have The Cargo Airlines (TCA) based in Shj and Veteran Avia (VA) which is based in JED.
They are two different air contractors, of which the latter is flying freight consignments for Saudi Airlines(SV).
Which is the better outfit to work for? Any infos will be appreciated.

Best?

To the best of my knowledge TCA is stagnant at this time with no hiring. Veteran Avia needs pilots bad cuz they cant find and don't do much to keep the ones they have. All of us or I mean "them" are trying to go somewhere---anywhere else. They lure u in with a promise of a UAE base then sentence you to JED for extended periods. Over all I'd say get a job at Walmart....
