At ABX Air (DHL America) it's "week-on, week-off" in theory, with lots of variations. Most lines have 7-8 day blocks of flying twice per month. Each block is a series of day layovers (fly hub to destination early AM and back to hub in PM, with 3-5 hours at hub each night). Most blocks include a weekend layover, mostly Sat to Monday but a few Friday to Monday or Saturday to Tuesdays (YYC is a four day!). There's a lot of other trips/lines out there but this covers about 75% of our flying.

Speaking of cargo 747s, just what is Connie Kalitta doing with 4 red and gold 747s in Memphis lately? A buddy told me that they have been seen there often. Are they flying heavy freight for FEDEX?

Connie's airplanes in Memphis are doing mail runs for Fed Ex. All postal freight-Fed Ex has a huge mail contract, but not the lift for Christmas. Its the same as last year.
We fly 17 day lines in a month usually all in a row. Sometimes 14 hours between flights sometimes 3 or 4 days.
