Apparently a lot of Cadets have returned back from USA recently they are getting trained up first.

Why? Same resources (trainers and simulators) required to train cadet SOs as DEFOs...

Relatively - crew numbers for non-RQ FOs are not too bad at the moment, the biggest shortages are for SO and RQs.

Had the video interview a few days ago. Today, I received an email saying it was positive, but they have their hands full, and will get an assessment email in January 2026. Did anyone get the assessment recently?

Seems like everyone is going slow for the remainder of the year.

I competed the final assessment first week of May DEFO.Successful outcome, I’m still waiting in the holding pool everything seems to be backed.

I suggest you ask them. They are not reliable in terms of commitment. Even if you exceed their requirements they might call you. Are you jet experienced current and hold one of their type ratings already?

Hey guys,

Looking for some insights for CX. I'm an ERJ pilot with 2700h jet, 4500tt, 1600 jet PIC. Unfortunately, I failed my sim assessment last year with CX. The letter says I'm eligible to reapply after 12 month, which is 3 months away from now. Really want to work for CX and stay closer to home. Base on current hiring environment, any insights for reapply and thoughts are really appreciated.

They are not reliable with repeat interviews. Someone was encouraged after the one year wait to renew mefical and afyer re applying and much waiting got rejected even exceeding their minima. They ask whether you are rated on their fleets on tte application form yet they specify that it is neither a requirement to be rated not current. Strange process.
