I don't doubt there is a mass exodus underway. I see evidence of that every time I fly. In fact, that is the one thing I am certain of. As to the fortitude of the remaining pilots, many years of observation and disappointment have led me to believe that there is very little strength of character or resolve in our midst. The only hope for the individuals is to get on a seniority list elsewhere as quickly as possible. There is no career left here. CX management is gutting the airline, most likely to tidy up the books before they sell. They obviously don't care about the long term viability of the airline or its operation. Sometimes you just have to come to terms with the facts. Those are the facts as I see them.

One of the last guys, a very senior FO, I flew with early in the month typifies the problem. He stated that he wasn’t worried about ARAPA’s cancellation because his place was “almost paid off.” I said, “Mine’s not!” He just shrugged his shoulders. Moron! Almost punched him, how’s that for CRM? Typical CX.

Agreed. The impact across the Pacific would be significant if the NAMs would do their part. That said, it’s difficult to help those who won’t help themselves.

I will be particularly unimpressed if any based pilots volunteer for training while those in HK are under attack. To do so would display the complete absence of character and morals.

Got a few NAMs who claim to have squeaked in before the ban. Whether they were clean or not, they wear that for the remainder of their careers. I think it’s disgusting, but I also think training your much cheaper and often unqualified replacements is just plain stupid.

You know, there was a time where CX didn't have to 'convince' or 'sell' CX as a career choice. Another anecdotal bit of evidence of the failure of this management. All they can attract now is pre-pubescent kids, who live at home or think they are going on an extended field trip from school. They used to attract the best aviators in the world. Now, you have someone sitting next to you who can 'land' the airplane as long as you 'help out' a bit on the controls. Yep, CX, the world leader in destruction of the pilot career.

1: The first thing this particular Swire clone did was rename the whole department. This is the exact same thing a male dog does at every fire hydrant (teritory marking). Sounds simple but not, very EXPENSIVE when you think it through.
2: With his zero background in the field, first thing he probably did is run down to Bookazine and buy the “Idiots Guide on How to Bull***t employees with gobblygook language and pretend you have a Harvard MBA.
Just look at the language used re the PPL dept and these ads lately.
3: And I doubt if this was in the above book but the word “leadership” has now replaced “management” in all CX propaganda. Interesting this is, I can only surmise he wanted to bring a little of his military background into his new management purview.
One glaring problem I have with this..
It was military “leaders” who gave the orders at Gallipoly.
But then, you can all make up your own minds on that one.

Flex.. an attack such as yours on the so called "Peeps dept" really ought to have been better written and proof read before posting, including the reference to those who made the ultimate sacrifice at Gallipoli. That said, I am in full agreement …I think Traf has said all that needs to be said without a lengthy repeat..my flying game will now focus on family and life..having given so much of it to what has now become an imploding and thankless organisation..

Reading that ad for the 'people department -sic'-easy to see why CX is in trouble if they advertise a serious role with that garbage. It is an airline-a (potentially ) deadly serious business and you write a job spec like you are recruiting for an app development startup focussed on teenage girl fashions or party planning
