Something fishy going on with the timing.

The way this company is managed is terrible but it is the intent of management to do business this way, it is not due to blunders. These are very educated, smart individuals. Something is up, it's almost like they are asking for industrial action over the holidays, lining things up for the next despicable move. CX could have drawn this out, done it sooner. These are very deliberate actions at a deliberate time.

Not smart enough to know what they are up to, but they are definitely up to something.

I agree. The announcement or lack thereof on Friday will telegraph how sincerely they want all out war with us.

Let's say I believe in conspiracy theories and Santa Claus.

The only thing that would make sense in SloppyJoe's scenario is that all assets and value have been stripped from CX and all that's left is a significant leveraged company with no assets and real cash value. The result ----- insolvency after industrial action with the pilots to blame.

or

the more realistic option

you are giving management too much credit.

I agree that they're not stupid. Was fuel hedging part of the "plan" too? Will the whole sorry enterprise be sold to a Chinese carrier? The Managers care only for themselves and can move to Shipping, Bottling or Property ( from whence they came) with little regard for pilots who they now regard as a bloody nuisance. They used to regard us with huge respect but were ordered, over a very long period, to stop that.
Let's see what their end game is. What a strange Corporate strategy.....

If it is war they want, it is war they shall have.

With the GFBA possibly being withdrawn today after the pending ARAPA announcement, one can wonder whether the Monday papers will run a story about how the "company" engaged the association in HPE and as the association walked away they have no choice but to move forward with restructuring and issue a new contract to effect the changes they want.

Perhaps I'm a pessimist but have been here long enough to know the way they orchestrate things. You really couldn't make this stuff up.

They know they will have a fight after they slash housing. They might as well cut everywhere else as they know our reaction will be same whether they cut 20 or 40%.

And on the other hand, recruitment is struggling to make the numbers. I wonder why...

Fine. Then let’s all grow a f*ucking pair and for the first time in cx history, let’s go on an all out strike! Then, let the chips fall where they may.

It is time to strike. Our management must sit in wonder at the absurdity of seeing us cower in fear instead of fighting back. Strike vote. What on earth can we lose. This career is finished anyway. Extraordinary General Meeting: Strike vote. In the meantime, I hope every Captain is planning to nurse their cold and flu in the coming days and weeks. Time to fight. Not Time to Win (and what a gross obscenity that slogan is).

Yes Dan. Now, what about the present? We can't afford the luxury of infighting or retrospective angst. We are on the battlefield, there is incoming heavy armour. What are WE going to do about it? I hope every single one of you is planning your part of the fight. The time is now to preserve and protect our profession, and roll back this assault. Now.

Or more like they know we don't have the balls to do anything more than CC. Furthermore, much of this is punishment for not accepting the last TA. Funny how this whole concocted doom and gloom surfaced not long after the last TA was voted down.

Grow a pair and walk out. At least your spouse and kids will see you stand up for your rights and you can hold your head high in your next job. Most employers will respect that. An employee with integrity.
