It's simple. Every human being gets sick. The company can't dictate when and where. You pick up the phone, call CC and tell them 'I am unfit for duty'. They have no say in that matter. You are legitimately sick that day, doesn't matter what others are doing. Don't let this feral group of managers intimidate or bully you. The time has come to seriously reinforce your true value as an individual and professional pilot. We add value to society. Our managers only cause misery. Remember that.

Just had a drink with an old neighbour of mine employed in the banking industry (one of the 'good' guys). You'll be happy to know that he told me they are looking forward to record bonuses this year. Many of them rub shoulders with the Swires....and they are on record that they think the pilots are nothing but a 'pain in the arse' and need to be brought down a peg. That is the mindset of the AT's and RH's in our company. Think of that as you go to work in the next few days (or not). How much longer are we willing to debase ourselves? Time to take a stand. If not now, then never again, and we will all have the careers we deserve.
