3 for 3

3 new destinations being announced soon (CPH,DFW,BRU) while 3 current CX destinations will be cancelled (PEK/DPS/DUS). Not much expansion then

What a ridiculous notion though. Paying Pilots whilst they are responsible for passengers on board with the doors shut. Hope this doesn't catch on here.

Pax destinations. Even the colleagues on the 747 are forgotten by their brothers.

I saw this week's "Monday Morning Quarterback" spoke of something exciting being announced later this week. I was hoping the Slogan Department was going to announce a new inspiring slogan. I was hoping for something to record management's progress at HPE talks, "Time to Grin" perhaps?

Imagination my disappointment if the announcement is 3 new destinations and the loss of 3 crappy destinations....

I'm guessing you haven't heard the expression "rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic"

Full is one thing, but what are yields and how much cargo revenue goes into the belly. Is the aircraft better served on the BRU or CPH route instead? Fresher beer by air cargo as long as the flight is not too turbulent?

Or, maybe LH will launch a DUS flight, and CX will put a flight # on it meaning BRU or CPH can take its place.

In these trying times in which harsh competition and difficult economic conjecture completely outside of this management's reach and responsibility weigh heavily on this company's results, it is only a sensible decision to defer aircraft deliveries, consolidate frequencies and prune less profitable desti.....

...Oh, we're adding destinations, you say? Aircraft keep coming, you say?

Sorry, my bad. Carry on.

But in a strategy quite unique to aviation the company plans on not charging the shareholder for these acquisitions but instead charge their staff, as well as charging staff for fuel hedging gambles, currency hedging gambles, cartel fines, cadet pilot training and management bouneses whilst simultaneously asking the said staff to work harder.

One can only assume this will result in an exceptional, watertight staff profit sharing scheme.....

Would the 2,600m runway in DUB not be a bit tight?

Ya got that right.

Not to mention tons of long runways, efficient traffic flow and great ATC, generally good weather, modern efficient terminals (as opposed to the DC-8 days setup at places like LAX), a true gateway to the Americas and other carriers, centrally located, a fair bit of operations but not all that busy compared to NY or SFO, plenty of room for expansion, business friendly climate, you name it.

A REAL win.
