Seriously mate, I am embarrassed for you. You are a first class egomaniac & you have no idea. God you must be hard work to fly with !
I just want to kick you in the nuts !
Have a nice time up on the 3rd floor, i'm sure you will be up there with the rest of the completely unchecked egomaniac sky gods real soon!!

Jesus christ you guys.... is there any reason to doubt that he indeed wrote this for a friend who asked for an in depth account of the flight and that it wasn't intended for mass consumption? I don't see any and therefore I think: give the guy a freaking break! We're our own worst enemies...
No doubt some airbus hero will be spurting their prowess in the "bread roll" soon!

I fly a 777 somewhere else. I believe that the aircraft in this story was a 777 because he mentioned that autoland is not allowed at flaps 25. Our autoland limitations are max 25K overall and max 15K for LVO. Is it different at CX?
I was surprised when he said that he did an autoland.
Then again, I was surprised that CX would be doing any landing in weather like this especially at HKG. There is a bad history of trashed aircraft in Hong Kong during typhoons.

What a baying pack of hyenas. The usual suspects as ever.
And Cowards, like the animal they resemble.
The Mods on this forum are a thundering disgrace to boot.
You're all a shame to the profession.

Wow what a bunch of c_>£s we have become.
Yes our esteemed captain may have been slightly over enthusiastic in his description of events- but the way you lot going on is worse. Especially against one of your own which is acknowledged to be a decent bloke.
I am embarrased to be one of you.

Having had the (genuine) pleasure of flying with LG, I am absolutely in no doubt that he is the type of gent who would make the effort to write his whole recollection of the event down, to help a colleague.
Whether you cowards think it to be over-egged, or over-enthusiastic is irrelevant. It's a shameful lack of professional courtesy on display here, and I'm embarrassed by association.
When the dust settles in our industrial situation, LG is exactly the type of commander we should be hoping for in training. Anybody who knows him would agree.

Dear Penthouse,
I never thought I would write a letter like this before, but I also was never so horny in the cockpit before. Right after I put on my grey jumper after we reached cruising altitude, there was a knock at the door...
-----
Frivolity aside, I think that anything which is deemed helping the company at this stage in the industrial action is not going to be well received. So whether you do or don't in the job, be mindful of the reaction when there is a chance it is available for public consumption.

Could not phoning the gentleman be regarded as 'harassment'? Company Policy refers. I would be very careful.

To all you PC types
It deserves every bit of mockery it got
It was a molehill until the author made it into a mountain .
Perhaps the publisher didnt really think this one through enough before hitting the send button.
We all make mistakes as they say , but between them both I think they would make great romance novel writers ....

Im glad my family wasn't on that plane with all that head-spinning going on.
Landed in said typhoon. Extra gas, no bothering Mark or Gus or 20 other people (they have their own jobs to do and aren't seeing what we are anyway). Bit bumpy passing River with 60kts and thought "Yeah 07 would have been good", but that's why they fitted thrust levers and speedbrakes to the plane. Manual landing - which incidentally never comes from the front in a crosswind so bit of the old one-wing-lo method worked a beauty. Taxi, park, 8929, everybody goes home to hibernate, bye bye. #notthathard
