Hong kong "new" air traffic control system
Our bosses force us to use the new system which is not usable at all unless I had three heads six arms. How come they (bosses) are so cruel and as useless as the new system?
Did HKG buy this second hand from Dubai after the found it unsuitable for use in the Civil market and got rid of it ?
Did India dumped the same system as well ?
Why did they purchase a system which is incompatible with the surrounding FIRs ?

We bought an advanced garbage. Dubai controller doesn't interact with their garbage, HK ATC is so brave to use it in such full scale. The system-designer never thought it could work that extent. Ha Ha! Funny things are going to happen on October 31.
See update.

CAD must have quite a few 8 armed controllers judging by the number who could be seen using their phones and operating the equipment as well during shadowing.

What do you mean by incompatible SWH? Does it have to be the same manufacturer to be compatible? It can interface through AIDC can't it???

We did not allow aircraft too many aircraft coming to our FIR each time we tried the new system. The handling is marginal, but how long we can rely on this ridiculous flow control for inbound traffic?! The new system is a crap, it is absolute design for aesd engineer not for controller. the engineering chief bought this rubbish with cancer as punishment and retired years ago, what karma would his boss receive? more promotion? if passenger died because of this rubbish, you guys will also have omen on you.

The operational date of the "useless" system is now 21 November (they did not make clear the year).
We should not be worried too much on using this crap. Flow controller will restrict the aircraft movement to less than 50 an hour. If the flow controller did not impose that rate, the area supervisor and approach supervisor would get their incident template ready.

It is really suxk. I have to stay behind after the PFI for another two hours simulator work. I was so tired after the PFI on real aeroplanes, they think it is ok because of non real traffic. The management only wants to build up the hands on hours to proof record of ready. It is turning out high sick leave, high hate to this non usable system and low productivity.
May be management won't care these human factor issues anymore.

Take it seriously please.
Take plenty of fuel guys.
Seriously guys?
I'm not a great fan of the system either, nor the haphazard and directionless training schedule we've had but all this complaining about flow control? What the hell did you want?
Most were complaining they couldn't handle 100% of the current traffic- that's normal anywhere in the world, in any industry, with any new piece of equipment - so the FLMs and Sups put on a tiny bit of flow to take the edge off the peaks. Once up and running it was systematically removed from what I understood. In the end, everybody landed and departed with little or no backlog. What is the problem with that?? What's the alternative? No flow and then complain of being overloaded? You want them to let it go so you can sit back and say "We told you so" when it goes belly up?
Some of you need to grow up.

It was a successful PFI, controllers were aware of the conflicting traffic although those traffic were still far apart. Give them more time they will be more efficient and as smart as usual.
