You know Hong Kong is effed up for pilots,when an Aussie pilot comes back to chase his dream of becoming a chef on Masterchef instead!

Why not? Cooking would be more interesting than airline flying, it may be more financially rewarding if he is any good at it and it would provide a great lifestyle at that country pub.

Everyone bitches on this forum about wanting to leave, here's someone doing it because of something they really want to do. How many of us put on hold our dreams of being an adult movie producer or farmer etc etc and then woke up one morning in Hong Kong aged 50.

Yep, a great guy. Great enough to enter into training during the 'please don't' period i.e. about a month before the training ban.
What he's doing on MasterChef is fantastic, without question. What he did when he entered training was not, however, fantastic!
