curious solution?
After a couple more hours of the same problem and plenty of reads of my post with no replies apart from the one it was obviously local to me so I tried on phone with 3G-no problem. All other internet dealings by me and family were normal apart from Intra-CX hence sluggish time taken to look closer to home?A bit of a puzzle with various computers all the same with CX system but happy doing anything else. Finally pulled plug on router and all went back to normal with CX.Hopefully this will get filed away if you read this and find yourself unable to access Cx.
Maybe it's just me, but since they fired those IT people IntraCx has become unreliable and slow. Double logons are commonly required. 'Roster time' has become a shambles.
I hope our passengers don't share our experience with the airline's computer system.
P.S. 'sorry' to all my jump seat applicants, the jump seat allocation page is slow and sometimes does not 'save' the allocations; blame the geniuses who run the web site.

SMS Questionnaire
It's now day 3 that i am trying to complete the Management Safety Questionnaire, but on clicking "Start the module" menu I don't get past blank screen. Any advise or should I wait for the phone call on the 1 Jan?

I, among many, have wasted my free time doing the SMS course for no credit, and passed the exam. After finishing, the Learners World does not even show that I accessed the course, much less that I did it all and passed the test.
I am not doing it again.

Iron Skillet, You have to complete every part of every section so that when you go to the menu all the objective circles are completely blue. You have to roll your mouse over the bits is says otherwise it will not show complete, even if you take and pass the quiz it won't say you've completed it.

Um, thanks Spanner, but this was not my first barbeque.
I did complete every section, click every required item, run my mouse over each required thing, and at the end every little blue menu circle was filled in because I had completed all sections, the course was properly completed, my score on the test was displayed, and everything was all set after an hour or so of this nonsense....except the CX IT does not work.

are you using the intracx or the intracx-plus version?
if you are using the intracx only, there was a notice (on the first page of the stupid learner's world) saying that it wouldn't be able to capture whether you have done/accessed the course, only if you use the plus version of the intranet.

On the iconnect plus login page, there is a USER GUIDE to show you how to use the iconnect plus version. It got little difference in how you have to do with it according to different MAC OS version you are using.

Pre-requisite settings of Safari
1. On Safari menu, Preferences > General, choose “in a new window” for feature
“Open links from applications”.
2. On Safari menu, Preferences > Tabs, DO NOT check “Enable Tabbed Browsing”
3. On Safari menu, Preferences > Security, check “Enable plug-ins”, “Enable Java”, &
“Enable JavaScript”. DO NOT check “Block pop-up windows”
Pre-requisite settings of FireFox
1. On FireFox menu, Preferences > Content, check “Enable Java”, & “Enable
JavaScript”. DO NOT check “Block Popup Windows”
2. On FireFox menu, Preferences > Tabs, choose “a new window” for feature “Open
links from applications in”.
Procedure walkthrough for first time iConnectPlus access
1. Open https://iconnect.cathaypacific.com/plus with Safari or FireFox 1.5 or above and logon with GalaCXy id and password.
2. A TOU page is shown. Click “Accept” to proceed.
3. The iConnectPlus landing page will then be displayed.
4. There will also be a dialog box popup telling that Safari cannot find a plug-in. Press “OK”
5. Users will then see a small window asking them to select installation method. Choose “Download and run a standalone installer package”
6. The installer package “SSLVpn.pkg.tar” will then be downloaded to the Desktop of the Macintosh.
7. Double click “SSLVpn.pkg.tar” will uncompress the file and another new file will be created named “SSLVpn.pkg”.
8. Double click the file “SSLVpn.pkg”.
9. Click “Continue”
10. Select the destination to install the software and click “Continue”.
11. Click “Install”
12. If installation is successful, Click “Close”
13. After completed the installation, user must Reboot their Macintosh.
14. After reboot, logon to iConnectPlus again. If function properly, a window will pop-up and showing status, “Connected”.
Remarks: When the status of the window is showing “Connected”, the
iConnectPlus connection is established which allows users to access CPA internal applications. Closing the window will terminate iConnectPlus, thus users cannot access CPA internal applications.
15. Within a few seconds, a new browser window will pop-up showing the CPA
internal web portal logon page. This new browser window is the default browser of the Macintosh. (For instance, if the default browser of the Macintosh is IE, then an IE browser window will pop-up, likewise a Safari window will pop-up if the default browser is Safari.) Users need to logon to the web portal and access internal applications.
16. Since now the iConnectPlus connection is established, users not only can use the new pop-up browser but they can also open other browsers to access CPA applications.
For example, assume the default browser is Safari, instead of using Safari users can now open an IE to visit CPA internal webpages.
