Heap of Junk
For a company that cares about image why do they leave that heap of junk 340 by the 07R threshold where the punters can see it? Only one engine, no APU, rudder off, part of the tail fin missing, it is a becoming a real eyesore of a Christmas tree!

It doesn't belong to CX anymore, so it's not CX's problem.
the tail and logo should be painted out, though, I agree.
It's been leased to Aerolineas Argentinas (as have the other 2 ex Boeing A343's) but the new operator needs to flash the cash first.
That stand is the most convenient for long term storage and the "missing" parts have been cannibalized to get the other 2 to flying condition.
She'll be sitting for a while.

Actually the aircraft in question does belong to CX. The three that are going to Aerolineas: two are in XMN and the other is already in their colours parked behind Haeco. The 340 missing bits is because they had to rob it of its parts to put on the Aerolineas planes.

seems this thread is being read by someone with the wherewithal to move the heap of junk and replace with a Aerolines Argy bird.. while still XM is still CX, it doesn't hurt the brand image like XF did rotting away there.

I wonder if Aerolineas has come up with the $$$ yet....
They currently have two A342s grounded in LIRF/FCO with overdue landing gear MX. The are way overdue with the 25,000 hour overhaul for the landing gears. One aircraft being at 36,000 hours and the other at 41,000 hours since the last gear overhaul.
Another class act operation
