What I do not get is why do the most senior members of the crew have to pay more than the rest of the airline. That's bull!!!

I cannot see how every captain is going to have 1 month off and the rest are not going to work more!

Frozo - good question, I'm not sure!

I know that Captains are considered level D for the LEPs housing - think that's in the housing policy somwehere. I'm sure I've seen the others in some policy or other but not sure where I got this info originally.

Fac6 - from what I've seen/heard, it's more about the lower levels of staff in the whole company being in theory less able to give up as much money as the upper levels, particularly, I suppose, when it comes to ISD and HKIA staff. I also presume they didn't want to have a different scheme for us as opposed to the rest of the company, so had to roll out the same process for everyone.

How about no one volunteers, then we can fix the crewing problem and you (or they) don't have to delay anything.

Fac6 - I agree, in principle, but I know I would choose my salary and giving up a bigger percentage of it over a Level A salary and giving up a smaller percentage. Those guys are paid peanuts...

Wrong! Capt = Level D

I agree with Fac6 how can this be fair? Cabin Crew give up an overnight allowance and FO's and Capts give up mega $$$

You know why? because they know if they made Cabin Crew take a month off and a huge salary cut they would have one hell of a fight on their hands witht he FAU, so they do what they have always done... shaft the pilots as we're all gutless cowards and will sign up - Fact!

So let me get this straight; when times are tough those getting paid more have to give back more. And when times are good, we all get the same % profit share.................

I've found it. you need to go into PeopleCX.
Then click on salary history under payroll.
Then in the salary summary click on pay rate change.
And then you can see which Job Level you are.
As quoted before:
Capt=D
F/O=C
S/O=B

Everyone take it a month at a time

We all apply for the same LWOP time off. 16% of the captains each month for the first 6 months. kind of like the all or nothing deal they are giving us. They will then be short staffed and have you flying overtime to get all those loss making full aircraft and passengers to destinations rather than paying out denied boarding compensation. We will all make our pay cut back with overtime. Think about it. an 8% reduction in capacity is equal to one months of captains productivity. if we spread it over 12 months we lose and the company wins. We need to get unified on this.

Several years ago Net Jets pilots got together and all refused upgrades except the bottom 2 pilots on the seniority list and what happened, all the pilots got command pay. We too need to unite and give the company what they are asking for but on OUR TERMS!

How about that. We take turns to reduce our monthly credit hour by 20hours if no standby, so that we'll get a payrise instead.

Level A is most airport staff, office staff and cabin crew
Level B is S/O's (and ISM's?)
Level C is F/O's
Level D is Captain's and Managers.
Level E is General Managers.

I note that nothing is said about unpaid leave for the Level E employees, surely the GMA, GMF and GMO etc are not slipping past the goalie? By management's philosophy of sharing the pain unequally, they should be up for 5 weeks LWOP.

Unite

Viking Avenger

I like the idea of Uniting, but in my time at CX I have NEVER seen it happen. Closest we came was when the 49ers were sacked, so it wont happen.

If I accept the scheme I am considering putting a written acceptance in with a clause that I will only accept provided my leave occurs in one block at a time I agree to. I know the company will ignore this, but if push comes to shove then such a condition on an agreement might have some legal standing (something for the AOA lawyers to look at - although the AOA seems to prefer 2nd rate lawyers).

Worth a try, after all my command is slipping away with extendees, retirement at 85 and the slow down.....
