Wow, I hope I never fly with this guy.
With an attitude like that you're going to have a very short career at this airline.

All this time and still you don't realize, what HK radar is doing is confirming that you have the latest ATIS by repeating the code so to make sure you have all the information included in it, otherwise what is the point of just giving you the code??? You're supposed to give the code on initial contact befor he/she does, it's you not giving it that forces them to give it.
Vol 2 Part 2 clearly say " On contact WITH APP." Not as clued up as you thought hu??
I think this is just a wind up, hate to think that this guy might have the power to do ERAS.
Cool as a moosp

Yes Beta but on this point ( and many others) Vol 2.2 is wrong. HKATC ask on terminal radar for the information, on the basis that if you have got as far as working approach and still have not received the ATIS then it is too late.
Remain flexible.

I agree moosp, but it is merely to proof to this “Mr. I do it by the book” that even he get it wrong.
But then he is just a bored or very strange individual ,so I will with draw from any more comments and watch from the sideline - when I have time, as unlike V some of us have hobby's and spend time with the family.

Recommendation
Go to top left corner of this page and select User CP.
At the bottom of the control panel options, under miscellaneous is the buddy/ignore list. Select ignore list, enter VforVENDETTA. Then save list.
Any questions?

Whoaaa - who needs a valium then?
Dear Mr V
You may probably have seen by the volume, tone and swiftness of the replies, that when talking "tools", most people think you are just looking in the mirror! Unless of course this really is just a wind up...
As an older person, may I recommend you take a couple of Valium, or a glass of red, preferably both and just CHILL a little, it works for me.
Personally, I think you need to step back and look at the bigger picture, and if you relax a little (or mebe a lot!), you may find you become a better operator.
Good luck on your next outing, but spare a thought for your buddies on who you may be inflicting your wound up personal crusade beliefs.

OR,
FDAP could be caused by constantly changing rosters on the freighter so that one cannot possibly get the rest required for every flight. I believe the majority of these on the 747-400 are in ANC.
V-
You really ought to write to the Fleet Office instead of ranting here. Some of your ideas might then be adopted.
One more thing that someone else brought up; if you ask for gear down at F10 without saying something, then I am asking myself if you know that you do not have F20. Sometimes we forget when we are tired and good CRM dictates that you address this.

You are required to have the latest ATIS before taxiing out or checking in with approach controller and so therefore it's been established FAA and ICAO procedure as mentioned in the FAA AIM and many ICAO equivalent publications you MUST repeat the ATIS code on initial call up for taxi or when checking in with approach. When you don't they have to ask you for it, and this happens almost all the time with us.
Even if you do check on with the latest ATIS identifier at the end of your transmission as often as not ATC still asks do you have "Echo" (current atis).
Sometimes I wonder why we even bother.
This is not a slam on controllers but just a recognition of the fact that we all can and do miss small details at times.

V's identity -- I am sure he is either W.R.T or D.H of airbus ilk. They are the only two pricks I have encountered that are as anal as his posting.
