Right Choice - read the fine print !
Key features of the new scheme
To align our medical plans with current market practice, a “user contribution” element (i.e. co-pay) will be introduced. Employees will therefore be responsible for a co-pay of HK$50 per GP and Physiotherapist visit and $100 per Specialist visit under the new scheme. Recent benchmarking studies show that other companies and insurers have either adopted or are intending to introduce this practice). The co-pay is NOT for offsetting medical expenses.
The erosion continues.....

Is there anything else this fu@king company wants to cut back on.......
How long before they start charging for our crew meals and drinks etc....
I see we have to pay $200 dollars to renew our out of office hours parking permit, only CX could do something this freeking stupid.
I am getting more and more tempted to leave as every day passes working for this bunch of tight fisted t@ssers.

Off soap box.

Rightchoice???
That would be WrongChoice. Or Sh!teChoice.
Don't worry dear professional pilots, it is only the professional cabin crew and the professional ground staff that are affected.
You see, CX will respect the CoS, as they know that they will be in the High Court PDQ if they tried to pull a stunt like that on the flight crew.
CX showed their true colours yet again.
They will treat their staff as badly as they can get away with without getting sued.

Outside additional coverage
Just logged on to start a thread on this very subject.
I have been thinking about my coverage (or seemingly lack of) recently. Seems to me if, God forbid, something happened to my dependents I could possibly end up in financial hot water just at the time when I need that less. I mean they sell this $100K coverage as if it were offering piece of mind. I would feel a little better if it were $100K USD maybe.
Surely if my understanding of the level of coverage is correct (hired post 97), then someone must have looked into other options beyond what is offered by the company as either standard or additional coverage for dependents.
My question here is does anyone have any suggestions of whom to talk to for getting aditional insurance for my dependants? Also, I am not convinced that the dental arm of QHMS is all that great. Anyone out there who has tried both QHMS and the other panel dentist. Thinking about trying them out but don't want to jump from the pan to the fire.
Thanks guys

B A,you asked for experiences with cx dental.
About four years ago I went to QMHS for a dental check up at kitty city. The young chap there recommended that I have two wisdom teeth removed as he said they were impacting.
I returned to my usual dentist in central and got a second opinion. He was adamant that the teeth were good and was upset by what he considered an un-professional suggestion.
Don't know if this guy is still with them but such attitudes can become systemic in an HMO.

According to the Benefits centre the $50, $100 charge does not apply to cockpit crew.

If benefits center is saying that, ask them for some literature to support what they are saying.

Swire
Anyone can advise if there is any advantage to sticking to the Swire scheme [join co. 19 years ago] instead of signing over the 'Right Choice' scheme?
I did not sign up for any of the RC schemes over the years.
