See Oxford advertising in Flight for instructors to be based at Goodyear airport in Arizona.
Anyone know the deal? Is it a UK based salary package or lower US type salary? Any multi instructors needed?
Any info would really help to decide whether to bang in a CV...

Can't say much on the current positions being offerd except that in my own personal experience I'd look extremely cautiously at anything being offered.
The basic rule is if it's not in a written contract anything promised is not worth a jot, and even when it is you'll probably find there is a get-out clause in the fine print.
Call me cynical but I'd put out a serious 'caveat' on this one, particularly on the US immigration visa, if it is the genuine article - green card - it will come with some serious limitations and conditions.
By the way Goodyear is in the back of beyond as far as Phoenix is concerned. apart fromthe backdrop of the Sierra Estrellas and the neighboring Phoenix International Raceway, there is pretty much nothing else out there.

The large majority of Oxford students going there will be Integrated and doing the SEP part of the training. All the ME is done back at Oxford. Most of the modular students will be doing the ME class rating there, but not IR. So the requirement for ME FI might be fairly low.
Porridge, Goodyear might be a bit isolated, but that's pretty much the reason Oxford are moving there :-) There was a lot of time and money wasted waiting for take-off clerance at Scottsdale. And you can still drive or get a cab to downtown Phoenix, it's really not that far.
As for immigration, you definitely don't need a green card! If you had one, there would be no limitations to what you could do. You'll need to get a temporary work visa, which won't be hard with the backing of the school.

20 MEIR hours are now done out in the USA with the remainder done back in the UK (another 20), hence the request for MEIR instructors at Goodyear.

Thanks Craggenmore, I stand corrected! I hadn't heard about the initial ME/IR part now being done in the US.
It makes sense financially, but I'm not sure it's good for the students. IR flying is quite different from US to UK (OCA concept, RT, etc). I had 15 hours back in the UK (modular), after having flown 270 hours exclusively in the US, and it was a bit of a challenge...
The main bit they'll have to get right is standards. At Scottsdale, most of the instructors were FAA and I got told off endlessly by the UK FIs when I started flying back at Oxford! Hopefully the new ME/IR FIs at Goodyear will be JAA and trained by OAT.
