No no no.... TKS stands for The Kemtrail Switch.
I believe in the existence of chemtrails, otherwise how could you explain the fact that the looney who started this thread is walking the streets? He must have got a big dose of some mind changing substance back during those dodgy trials in the 1950's!

Lightbulb Mature and Informed Factual Debate

For thse people who have read the last 4 pages of this thread and thought what good sport it was, let's now have a reality check.

1. This section of the forum is I'm guessing intended to discuss in a serious manner the technical side of aviation. Should you wish to have a good laugh then I suggest the Jet Blast forum, perhaps playing in a sandpit or eating jelly and ice-cream may hold your attention.

2. Reading previous threads in this forum has revealed that it is mostly frequented by engineers, crew and members of the public with an interest in how a/c actually function.

3. Occasionally subjects are raised that not all participants agree with. But, normally open and honest debate takes place. Abuse and personal attack is not normally apparent.

4. Open and honest debate is usually supported by reasoning and informed factual reponses. As opposed to infantile abuse by the larger peer group in PPrune.

Just think how members of the public react after reading threads on PPrune that actually make it look like our industry is populated by a group of professionals rather than sandcastle builders.

To qualify my position, I have been in the industry looking after only engines for over 18 years.

Question - When departing from an airport a man smelling suspiciously like a petrol/gas station attendant hands you a piece of paper. On that piece of paper are some very large numbers like 150,000. It relates to a thing called fuel, some of you may very rarely actually see this stuff in real life except when it is leaking from a fuel tank/engine. Now when you arrive at your destination you notice that this big number is now a lot smaller. Where did it go? Maybe somebody on board drank it during the flight, flushed it down the toilet or do you think some of it went into the engine and then overboard perhaps?

I could at this point refer to posts made about how some of assembled intelligencia actually believe they make clouds of the purest water. Well, it is the belief of most major religions around the world that only God's can do this.

I would so dearly love to tell the joke here about what's the difference between God and pilots. But I prefer to stick to the actual debate. Looking forward to a non-abusive and mature debate. Over to you....

Best regards,

N1 Vibes

The problem with having, as you would advocate, "Open and honest debate is usually supported by reasoning and informed factual reponses. " is that in this case this isn't someone asking a question with a view to finding others' opinions or just educating themselves about some part of the aircraft industry. It's someone with a clearly defined agenda and position (albeit a position that appears to shift depending upon the nature of the debate).

In short, it's about as valuable as trying to have a discussion about economics with a career politician.

There are claims that commercial aircraft do the spraying, and that its done by secret aircraft; that the spray is through the static wicks, or the engines, or somewhere else.

Oh and a lot of psuedo-psychology that claims that anyone questioning the believers' worldview is conditioned to be unquestioning robots of this all-powerful world state (or whatever is behind this).

Oh, and cloud-people from Saturn. Mustn't forget them.

In other words, the problem isn't the responses to the thread; the problem is that the thread BELONGS in JB.

Actually, it belongs in the dustbin, but that's just my opinion...

Mr (or Ms) N1 Vibes,

I pose this reality check to you.

Some of those who have treated the last 4 pages as "good sport" are certainly professionals in the aviation world; professionals who, like myself, have dealt first hand with "open and honest debate" of this and other subjects including Chemtrails, Black Helicopters and alike. The associated frustration that manifests in an attempt to point out the flawed logic that is the premise to these sorts of topics goes beyond frustrating, as you can probably understand. Coupled with the frequency and questionable veracity that this topic attracts when it's "ugly" head is reared.......I personally think responses to this point have been restrained. I would love to treat it with the contempt I personally believe it deserves...............

As there are clearly so many thousands of these numpties about does it not seem a tad surprising that none of them have ever had the notion (hmm, no, I see the fault in my argument right there) to rent a learjet and borrow a likeminded chemistry PHD stude with a mass spectrometer and go fly through these things, and see what they find? Easy as pie. Of course the results would not make the exercise worthwhile, as they know in reality, so they just stay on the ground and bleat like sheep instead.

What is interesting too are the differrences in culture between these fora and the Chemtrails one, where dissent is forbudden and will be erased, pilots are specifically forbidden entry and logical argument is scoffed at in favour of blind regurgitation of the "company" line. A bit like some churches, I suppose...

Sad, really, isn't it?

I can't understand why these guys accept a load of BS from people who know nothing but refuse to believe those people who actually DO know what they are talking about, who they decided to ask in the first place because of their expert knowledge that they are unwilling to accept in any case!

These conspiracy guys (never once known of any conspiracy girls and I've been contacted a lot in the past, being a (now ex-) physicist) usually have a stronger faith in their unsubstantiated 'truth' than most religious fundamentalists but I can't say I've ever met one conspiracy nut who believed in a God or who wouldn't rubbish somebody who did.

The other thing I can't understand is why perfectly happy 'normal' individuals who are, in general, highly trained and intelligent people bother to reply to these threads and thus kep the threads going far longer than they should.

DOH!!!

Shattered P..

A pedant I may be, however...

If you are going to quote Brave New World and other works of FICTION, please have the good grace to get the spelling right.

You'll be telling us that Henry Ford is/was the messiah next!!

To balance your view point I suggest you stop reading Huxley and pick up a Robert Rankin paperback. Now he really is on to something. "Up the Bees!" And mine's a pint of large down the Flying Swan, cheers.

The alleged email from the mechanic did make me laugh though.

The only reason anyone used to volunteer for bog work was because of the extra pay. (Now sadly removed).

Laugh ye not..

I have it on good authority that they are pumping out not only dihydrogen monoxide, but also carbon dioxide, these two chemical compounds have been known to combine to produce H2CO3, Carbonic Acid.

Otherwise known as Club Soda
