If you're talking about Air New Zealand then I don't know but.....
Air Nelson - send the ex Kendall pilots back and employ the NZ pilots that have been waiting for jobs to come up. Get the movement happening again.
I'm not trying to antagonise anyone but NZ pilots for NZ jobs first.

Reality sometimes hurts and the reality is that there are more Kiwis working here in Aus than there would be Aussies working in NZ. From my point of view they are welcome.
I'll comment at my will when some bigot decides to make such suggestions and it was entirely on the topic as it had developed. However, Kavu and anyone else who feels that way should know you can't have it both ways.
As to your point and if what you ask is true, I could say that it is only fitting and not surprising considering what the same company accomplished over here. But I wouldn't do that.
I'm not so sure that there may not be many thousands who however may think that way.
That said, I can honestly say that I hope it's not true. There's enough blood on the floor in aviation everywhere.

Rudder - remember those in glasshouses shouldn't throw stones! "Your a tosser" should've been "You're a tosser" ("your" is not the abbreviated form of "you are") so maybe your dictionary comment should be withdrawn, with a suitable appology?! Or maybe you should quit while YOU'RE not so far behind!!!

Its a sad day when you're being picked at for spelling and grammar when all you're trying to do is get your point across in your own words. This is a pilots rumour network and not a professional librarians rumour network and Rudder is for YAW control..

No 1A it's a sad day when your entitlement to a job is based on some birthright that is acquired because you were born in NZ.
It should be noted that Borneo's attempted to censor my comment to Kavu, on the basis that he feels it's off his topic, which was as clear as mud and that Kavu interpeted and felt warranted to take a swipe at Australian crews and their equal right to be working there.
It would appear that you are concerned that I hurt his feelings, well tough luck. He earned it by his response. And if it's off his topic, I didn't take it there. Last I knew Woomera was the moderator here.
I could equally have taken the fact that his comment and in particular his lack of response in setting Kavu straight, as he agrees with and condones the comment. You will note that I didn't take that there and it took quite a bit of fortitude not to.
I do, however, note that your a Kiwi A1 and haven't responded to the issue. Says it all really.
Kaptin M puts another interesting twist on it if you take Borneo's so called clarification. Perhaps working for ANZ gives them the right to other jobs in NZ when they are no longer needed at ANZ. Wonder how the people at Air Nelson would respond to that. I would suggest a bit like I have responded to date.
I'll make it clear for you and everyone else who misses my point on Kavu's premise. "It's F##king disgraceful". And no one more than Kiwis have more to lose if the industry went forward on a suggestion like that.

(that`s the accepted abbreviation for New Zealand) is as pityful as the converse.. .The Governments of both of those respective countries have made the rules - if they believe that citizens of their own countries are being denied work because of an influx of too many from another country, I`m sure they`ll correct the situation.
Wouldn`t it be the ideal world where we could ALL find the job of our choice in the country we wanted to reside (in)!!

Now to get this topic back to the question that was really asked.
Rumour has it that Air New Zealand are to lay-off up to 60 pilots. The Company, I believe has asked for those pilots who wish to take up to 4 years unpaid leave.
A 10% pay cut across the board was also mentioned.
Now, can someone add any light to this rumour.

Kaptin M, I think you will find, Borneo Wild Man was referring to that fact ("NZ=Air New Zealand")that NZ is the airline code for Air NZ, as QF is for Qantas, CX for Cathay.
So your comments were not really based on fact, just assumption.

If it is true I sympathise with any pilot that is forced out of what he would have thought was a secure flying job. Hopefully it means that some of the older blokes might consider early retirement and give the younger (and I don't just mean the 25-35 demographic)blokes a go. Unfortuneately in AirNZ attempts to avoid becoming a regional airline it has become just that under Government ownership and we all can see what a tough time regional airlines on both sides of the Tasman are going through.

I doubt Air NZ will lay off any pilots. Some are up to nearly max. monthly hours, and wait for it, load factors on many sectors are way up, highest for a long time, according to info at hand. We've been through this one before and I've said there will be no redundancies before. Wishful thinking boys. No 10% pay decrease has been mentioned.
