Flying Schools in Australia
Hey,
I was wondering if i could have your opinions on the following flying schools:
Camden Aviation. .Curtis Aviation. .Australian Flying Training School. .Aerospace Aviation. .Royal Newcastle Aeroclub. .Airborne Aviation. .Liverpool Flying School. .Basair. .Annandale Flying School. .Gostner Aviation. .Bankstown Airport Flying School. .Schofields Flying Club. .Illawarra Flying School.
Which of these is the most reputable, has modern and well-maintained aircraft, has the smallest student to instructor ratio, and gives the greatest value for money.
Thankyou,. .Hannah.

Curtis aviation are a very good bunch, Jim Drinnen, Jon Kelly and Mike Pepper are very relaxed , attentitive and bloody good. Craig Marshall is the CFI and hes' also spot on.
Jim is an old tailwheel fox, and if you want to learn good skills and good sense whilst having mucho fun doing it then go there.
They currently have 4 tailwheel Citabrias, a warrior, a 235hp Dakota (warrior on steroids), a maule , eagle, and I think they now have a Tobago.
I did my tailwheel endorsement with them in '96, and I can pretty much honestly say young Mr Drinnen taught me almost everything I know
If you go there, tell them I sent ya

I've been a student at Aerospace Aviation for the last year or so.
While the fleet might not be the best in Bankstown I'd say that the instructors are first rate.
I don't want to bitch about the other schools at Bankstown but I've heard some bad things about the schools that consider themselves bigger and better...

I can recommend Aerospace Aviation at Bankstown and Liverpool Flying School at Hoxton Park.

I would recommend "Illawarra Flying School & Chieftain Aviation" as the same owner owns both these companies. This gives you a greater range of aircraft.
I know you have not listed "Clamback and Hennessy Flying training", but check them out as they have had a lot of their students go and work for the airlines, as their training aircraft are well equipment with state of the art equipment.
