Hello,
Can I password protect a file so that its not easily accessable from Windoze Explorer or My computer?
I am running Win98
Used to be able to do it on Windows 3.1!!!
Want to keep credit card info and stuff on an Excel file and oyher Word docs all in ine file.

If you need to secure something as valuable as credit-card details from possible outside interferance, you should consider something like Password Safe. Windows "password protection" is not really worthy of the name and is trivial to break.

Other than properly operated one-time pads, there's nothing totally secure. For basic 'keep-your-nose-out' security, I use Steganos 3 - seems pretty good, variable length keys etc. and was a 'freebie in a 'pooter' mag.
