Android 12, WhatsApp and Messenger Notifications Lost
Hopefully someone will have a solution before I do a factory reset and restore from backup - all notifications are on, volume is up and tones are selected, do not disturb is off and ring tone works. But I don't get any WhatsApp or Messenger notifications - that's just happened in the last week. Any helpful ideas?

I completely empathize with your frustration and disinclination to resort to factory reset, rusty sparrow. If you are running Windows 11, go to System, then Notifications and check status of those applications which are being recalcitrant. Hope this helps!

Rusty Sparrow, just checking the bleedin' obvious
, assume you've done a restart? That generally solves most connection problems that my android throws up...

You mention the volume is up. Does this mean the notification appears on the screen, but you don't get an audible notification? That would be interesting.
Some apps have a setting to turn their notifications on/off and Android phones sometimes have a notification manager which can also disable notifications on an app basis.
You've probably tried this already but if it was me I would turn off all notifications everywhere I could find, restart the phone and then turn them on again.

I made the mistake of doing a factory reset on my Android tablet........ Ever since I have been frustrated by the lack of useful APPs I had installed before being "not supported" when I try to get them from the Playstore again. As a result I cannot download or correct the time on my Fitbit, my phone is used to do the necessary on my wife's fitbit and you cannot look after more than one fitbit on any device......
Is there a way to get earlier versions of APPs as the latest are not compatible with older Android hardware?

UPDATE Android 12, WhatsApp and Messenger Notifications Lost
I don't know what happened to my original question and the answers? Anyway, clearing the WhatsApp cache fixed the problem. Help was here https://www.imyfone.com/whatsapp/fix...ng-on-android/

I tried all sorts of logical things before clearing the cache - you could try that
