Fitting a new hard disc
Bonsoir Chaps....
My op system is.....
AMD T/Bird 1400
128 mb ram
windows 98
m/board Gigabyte GA-7DXR
HDD 3.4GB
Hello,
I want to install a new hard disc and keep my old one fitted.
I am a bit confused with the slave/master thingy.
And everything else too!!!!!

I have started off and installed it ..... BUT
At boot up It is recognised as Primary Slave but Windows dosent recognise it.
It starts up nicely, sees the old HDD, sees the new HDD then windows starts but no sign of the new drive ANYWHERE in Windows.
Anyway I will read the link you sent and see

The PC will see it immediately. For the OS to see it, it must be formatted.
You must use FDISK to create a partition (you can split it and create more "virtual" disks if you want) and then FORMAT to format it.
Windows will then see it.
