I have a screensaver that i downloaded recently and every couple of seconds, a picture comes up. There must be loads of pics in there as i have rarley seen the same one twice. Thing is, some of them are really good and i want to save them to disk but dont know how to get into the program to take the pictures out.!! any clues??????

Hi. I just tried that and the screen goes black. When i touch the mouse or keys it goes back to the desktop. Where does it go when 'print screen' is pressed?
Using Print Screen should save the current view or active window to the clipboard - the same place anything is kept when you copy and paste.
You can check it in clipboard viewer if that is installed or paste it into any picture program.

Its Liverpool fc from the official web site.
I dont have a clipboard or clipboard viewer and i don't understand how to paste it anywhere as the screen goes black when i press print screen. Should something come up asking me to cut/paste it or something like that?

A quick search for .scr editing files came up with this freeware http://www.webattack.com/download/dliconsucker.shtml
Described as follows: -
"Icon Sucker is a utility that allows you to extract, or "suck," icons out of the files on your hard drive. Many different file types on your computer contain one or even many icons that you can use. Icon Sucker makes it easy to open these files and "suck" the icons out of them. Icon Sucker supports ICO, CUR, ANI, ICL, EXE, DLL, OCX, DRV, BPL, CPL, SCR and VBX files. The program can read all icons from both 16-bit and 32-bit application and library files. This version can only save the icons as BMP or ICO files, not GIF. Icons can also be coipied to the clip board using a custom background color. Pro version available with GIF support and some additional features for $10. "
'never used it myself but I think you most probably need something like this (or the type of software that creates these files ) in order to get the images back out (?)
Hope it helps ....

Presumably you have ms paint, it comes with every version of windoze I have seen. If so when your screen saver is running hit the print screen button, open up 'paint', click on edit, click on paste and you should then see your picture appear. Click on file, click save as, then save it to a convenient location. (Also works with Word but you'll end up with word doc instead of a picture file). You will have to do each pic individualy coz as you say, once you hit the print screen key the screen saver disappears.
Alternatively the knife and fork method would be to do a search from the 'Start menu' for *.jpg this will probably take a while and a little trial and error as you will end up a list containing most of you picture files. Open up the picture files in turn until you find one of the pictures from the screen saver. Note the location of that picture then go to that directory and you should then find all the other pics from the screen saver. (If after doing the search the location isn't shown next to each file, click on view and then on 'details'). Another tip if you are using xp (and possibly me/2000) is to right click on the .jpeg file that you want then click on 'open folder containing'. This will take you straight to the folder you want. Then all you have to do is copy and paste the pics to a folder of your choice.
I suggest the first method, 'Paint' can be found through the start menu, programs then accessories.
The second method may take a while, especialy if you have lots of airplane pics or porn on your pc

No Joy :(
Thanks chaps. I have tried both of the above and neither work. The paint thing just gives me a black screen and i cant find any of the pictures either. I have tried it with another screensaver, this one from the NASA web-site of the shuttle. Nothing works..

What_does_this_button_do? you took the wind out of my sails
Sorry L
I'm at a loss, I downloaded the space shuttle screen saver from the NASA website and tried the 'Print Screen' option and it worked for me. I even tried the Liverpool Screen saver but I am not a registered member so I couldn't down load it.
I have to admit I was wrong about the search for *.jpg , I tried it after downloading the NASA screen saver and didn't find the pic files either.
Maybe there is some kind of copyright protection on the Liverpool screen saver but that doesn't explain why I was able to get a 'screen grab' from the NASA screen saver and you weren't ??????
Anyway option one worked for me, so either you have done something incorrectly (which I doubt because as you said you got some sort of result even if it was just a black image) or our opperating systems are different and mine (XP) allows me to do it and yours don't. Maybe it's worth having a go at option one again????

Hi Tinker. Huge thanks for having a go at all that. I just tried again the shuttle one and that just comes back as a black blank screen. I press 'Print Screen, Sys Req' key and the screen goes black. Then, when i move the mouse, it goes back to the desktop or whatever was onscreen when i done it. I then open MGI Photo suite and go to 'edit' then click on paste. Paste is the only one not greyed out in there and then it comes up with a new window but its all black I am on windows 98 now, did have XP but needed to uninstal it after a problem. I might re-instal it again and see what happens. Once again, many thanks for taking the time out helping me with this.
