Very odd fault: please help.
I have a really strange fault involving my lappie, mouse and bluetooth keyboard. It is intermittent but mostly present. Basically it is this; the mouse does multiple clicks when the button has been pressed only once and the keyboard will often do multiples of letters or spaces, again from only one ppppppppppppress. (I have left that in as an example.)
The mouse has a USB type connection and is either attached to the lappie directly or through a port hub. It makes no difference. The keyboard's little bluetooth "transmitter" is connected to the lappie the same way; either via the port hub or directly plugged in to the llllllllllllllappie itself. (Another example there.) Again, it makes no difference.
The computer is re-started every day so I know re-booting is not the answer. The mouse I use works perfectly on another computer but I have not been able to test the keyboard on another computer. Another mouse which works properly on aaaaaaaaaaaanother computer produces the "multiples" problem on mine................
You can see from the above examples what the result of the keyboard problem is and it's the same thing with the mouse; if I click on something it will give multiple responses. For example, if I am playing a card game and wish to click over one card,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, I click the mouse button once but anything up to seven or eight cards will flip over. If I want to copy and paste something, I can highlight and copy but then get multiple "pastes".
As a techno-retard (class 1) I find all this quite mystifying and am hoping that someone can suggest a solution. It does seem to me that the problem is within the lappie itself given that my mouse works perfectly elsewhere and a borrowed mouse still faults on mine.
Please help if you can ... this is driving me nuts.

The Hub may have developed a fault, that is affecting the keyboard and mouse data to the puter. Do you have any free USB ports in the lappy that you plug into directly..

No, Avi ... as I said, it makes no difference at all whether the mouse is attached directly to the compuuuter (it is a UUSB connection) or through the hub. Everything is as cleaan as a whistle ... no food or ddrink are placed on the desk.
I have just discovered another interesting thhhhhhing. I tried a test by playing a game using only the lappie's touchpad and button and it was the same result; multiple rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrresults from a single light tap. If it waas only one or two repeats I would suspect finger trouuuuuble but no human being could possibly type or tap that fast!!

It indeed sounds like a faulty lappy Bluey. It could be a fauly capacitor on the mother board (its a tiny electronic gadget), or a faulty chip. Even I would find fixing that a problem.
No coke in the keyboard Mixture, its old age catching up with me.. ( besides, that was OJ in the keyboard/motherboard of my Daughters Dell, and I fixed that)

Yup ... done all that stuff, LookingForAJob and even did an extra deep scan to make sure. Nada, zip, zilch.
Even I would find fixing that a problem.

Before giving it up as a hardware fault, it might be worth starting in Safe mode (assuming Windows of some kind) to see if it's a driver conflict.
If you have a spare 2.5" HDD you could swap that in and do a clean OS install to see if that cures the problem.
You could also try a temporary test install of a linux live distro - if the problem persists, then it is definitely hardware.

Tried the Safe Mode thingy, Saab, but no improvement there, and I'm sorry to say that I didn't really understand the rest of your post. (Techno-retard, me.)

Bluey, if you have the time/patience/inclination, borrow/make a bootable Linux stick and then see if the same problem happens with that. If so, it's your lappie. If not, it might be a driver.

Just a guess.
There is a facility to adjust mouse sensitivity and doubleclick sensitivity in Control Panel. Wobbly memory suggests there is also repeat key sensitivity in there somewhere.
Perhaps adjustment there?
