It indeed sounds like a faulty lappy Bluey.
Unfortunately I think you might be right, Avi ... especially as the kit works fine on other machines and the lappie's own touchpad is affected too..................................... (hahah ... that WAS a single full stop!)
Yup ... done all that stuff,
LookingForAJob and even did an extra deep scan to make sure. Nada, zip, zilch.
Even I would find fixing that a problem.
Not volunteering then.
Sigh.
