Lost server Belkin Print
I have just lost connectivity to my Belkin Wirelss Print server. I believe its default address is 192.168.2.225 but when I enter that in my address bar Google just searches and returns hits; the Belkin software does not load.
My Router is a Linksys with an address of 192.168.1.1 and I recently changed its settings following the security chat here.
I am also running Zone Alarm Firewall.
I need to get my print server address back to my original 192.168.1.101. How do I get into the Belkin advanced setup?

Have you tried pinging it @ 192.168 .1.101 ? (use <run> <ping 192.168.1.101>) if it echoes back then go into your router and disable the encryption and mac addresses and see if it works then. Without the manual I cant help on setting it for encryption though.

The easiest way is to do the following: directly connect the print server to your computer with a piece of ethernet cable (there is a ethernet port on the print server and probably on your computer!); disable the wireless interface on your computer and enable the 100BaseT interface (the wired one!). Set the IP parameters on that interface to be something like 192.168.2.100 You should now be able to connect to the print server. Reset the parameters on the Belink to what they should be and then disable the wired interface and re-enable the wireless.....

Forgot to mention the problem is nothing to do with encryption or security settings but rather the two devices are now on separate networks .... 192.168.1 is a different network to 192.168.2 (These being C class network addresses)

My reply went missing.
I was able to get a ping from 192.168.1.101 but not the Belkin ID.
I have tried on the wired connection from a PC on th eLAN, no joy.
I tried Belkin's English helpline and just a continuous stream of foreign language.
So far, no joy.

Last resort: reset back to factory defaults. use a pencil to press in the reset button (round the back) for 10 secs whilst powering on ... If the system can detect a dhcp server then that will work. If it can't then it will set the system back to 192.168.2.253 Then use the method I described above!

Unixman,
I think I tried that.
I did a reset of the printer server and as advertised the status lamp blinked for 90 sec then came on.
I connected the computer to the print server and switched off the WLAN.
I then set the LAN TCP IP to 192.168.1.100 it pinged OK but the printer was not recognised. I tried other settings but still no joy. Somehow I had originally managed to set the print server but now, whenever I enter either 192.168.2.225 or .1.101 IE merely returns a Google search.
I will knock it on the head for tonight, thanks

effortless et al, thanks for that I am still not routed.
I got a very nice and totally ineffective email which simply repeated the FAQ but in a personalised way. Then she suggested I rang the help line. I got the English bit as you suggested.
Unfortunately I did not get a native English speaker. After several say again, what, I can't hear you etc he simply said wait a moment and the line then disconnected.
Well I will uninstall printer, Belkin port and try again.

Solved the print server problem. It will be on eBay shortly.
The first Belkin model is not compatible with WPA wireless protocols. As I had just enabled WPA, vice WEP, I finally twigged when I read the specification online.
Strange that Belkin did not consider the bleedin obvious.
