Follow the instructions - you have to call the local Microsoft support centre

Cheers Markjoy

Having read the instructions on the KB article my colleague decided he didn't want to risk being charged by MS for their help in sorting out a problem caused by themselves.

Apparently this is the only way:
I can't address your previous problems with Microsoft, but calling for a
hotfix is quick and easy. You will simply tell the person that you have
a computer that has the symptoms in Knowledge Base article [insert
number] and you need hotfix [insert number]. You will not ask about any
other issues nor will you mention anything about the computer.

The MS person will ask you for an email address and you will give them
one. In a few minutes you will receive an email with a download link to
a password-protected zip file and the password for that file.

MS phone number for hot fixes in USA - 800-936-5700
MS International Support -
http://support.microsoft.com/common/international.aspx

There is no other way to get a hotfix.
I have seen a hotfix for another issue, VML exploit vulnerability, posted on another site, but dont know which one, sorry.
Good luck with the phone call!
