Pretty much my same scenario. Portal says "under consideration".
Yesterday I got 2 emails less than 5 min apart. One was a Google Forms to "update my info" and the other one I got said that "they're currently focusing on Panamanian pilots and they will contact me when they have vacancies for expats".
Sit tight, I guess...

It must be a generic response because I also got the same message. I sent an email to pilot selection stating that I was born in Panama and included my birth certificate.... crickets. I have an FAA ATP with 1750TT and 550 Turbine PIC. Does anyone have any leads on getting on at Air Panama or Flytrip.com.PA then moving on to COPA?

I recently heard Air Panama actually makes you sign a training bond with them since many people just use them as a trampoline to jump into Copa. On regards of fly trip I really don't know. A friend of mine (Panamanian) just got hired there so they may be hiring. Also, this is just a rumor but I heard that Copa is currently hiring mostly pilots from South America (Argentina, Brazil, etc.) from airlines which are almost extinct, but since they already have jet experience, the transition to fly for them is quite easy. Again, this is just a rumor and can't really confirm but kinda makes sense.

I'm considering throwing in an application as an expat... I have around 1300 hours but have regional jet and heavy boeing time, but before I consider applying, would like to know what pay is like nowadays and the working/living conditions. I'm guessing there is no way to commute and one must live in Panama. Cheers
