I was just thinking it might be a good idea to share some interesting Latin American aviation websites. Be aware that some of these may be in Spanish:
Asociacion de Lineas Aereas-- Costa Rica
Asociacion Latinoamericana de Aeronautica (ALA)-- The Latinamerican Aeronautical Association
Latin American Aviation Historical Society (Guatemala City, Guatemala based)-- also with good links for some Latin American aviation books.

Sorry that these are brazilian sites, but for the spanish speaker shouldn't be a hassle to understand most of it.

Found a few interesting Mexican websites:
aviacion.com.mx All sorts of interesting stuff here, including links with information for seemingly any kind of government application in Mexico, information for flying to Mexico, airports, schools, etc. Suposedly also a subscription service for job hunters.
FEDERACION MEXICANA DE PILOTOS Y PROPIETARIOS DE AERONAVES, A.C. A group for Mexican private aircraft owners and pilots (like AOPA in the United States). Also has an English section. Check the "Ligas" section for many links to Mexican and non-Mexican websites (lots of links to Mexican aviation legislation.

Colegio de Pilotos Aviadores de Mexico Not an aviation academy . . . nor even a union, for a lack of better words, this organization provides a profesional umbrella for it's members-- it is probably the closest thing if pilots could get as organized as a group of professionals as do doctors and lawyers (code of ethics, participation in accident investigation, conflict disputes, assistance in applications, etc.) Also with a section dedicated to rotary wing pilots, and aviation legislation information.

Your question, Kimberly, belongs in a different thread. To answer your question, however, I don't know of any opportunities in Panama, myself not having lived there for over 5-years. Also, unless you are a Panamanian or married to a Panamanian, the employment scene as well as even getting a Commercial Licence or ATP in most Latin American countries is pretty much restricted.

Centro Uruguayo de Planeadores
La Caída del vuelo 901 Done by the Costa Rican newspaper La Prensa Grafica, this is an interesting website about the crash of Aviateca Flt 901 (a Boeing 737-200), which occured on August 9, 1995, and remains El Salvador's worst aviation accident. The aircraft was a victim of Controlled Flight Into Terrain (CFIT) into Volcán Chichontepec while on descent into SAL and deviating around weather. Fascinating pictures, as well as a 15 minute audio recreation of the flight. Unfortunately for non-Spanish speakers, most of the information is in Spanish.
