If you are talking about where there are gliderports in Panamá or Costa Rica, sorry, I don't know that there are any (sadly), nor for that matter anywhere in Central America.
If you are asking about suitable aerodromes and locations for gliders, then I would think that in Costa Rica, in the Guanacaste region around Liberia (this is the northeast region near the Nicaraguan border) would be ideal due with it's ample flat farm-land (places to land out) mixed with hills in the surrounding area and many thermals.
In Panama, it is typically more humid, and while there is no shortage of Cu's and thermal lift, the cloud bases are lower due to the temp/dewpoint spread. There are a few aerodromes that may be quite suitable around Rio Hato, Penonomé, and Chitré, just a couple hours drive from Panama City. The Azuero Peninsula is the dryest part of Panama and offers the best flying conditions as far as visibility and ceilings, it's been a few years but it seems to me that it was bumpy everywhere when I flew around in the BE90.
Truth be told, I've fantasied numerous times about what it might be like to have a motor-glider in Central America.

Thanks a lot for that, and looots of apologies for not keeping up-to-date by managing to only sign in a month later... what a life, must slow down!
I own a 22 and my L/D of 60+ should get me around some... my question is related to a fleeting thought courting the possible setting up of alien residence in Central America... alas, topic closed for now

Looking for some good advice
I'm looking into getting my CPL but I'm not sure where I want to have my training. I speak both Spanish and English and would love to fly for LAN and do some kind of training in Chile. However, I have been told that it is better to get training in the states. Is this true? What is the difference in quality? If I got a CPL in Chile would it be considered valuable to airlines in the states?
Anyone that has experience with this or any kind of advice is more than welcome to help me decide what I want to do!

Does anyone have any site in mind that might have the answers of the English ATPL Regulations Exam for DGAC Chile??? Obviously apart from the actual Chilean DGAC regulations themselves. I'm looking to con-validate my license and I need to pass this exam first.

This site is somewhat old but will be updated soon.
I will facilitate some additional sites soon as I have to dig them up in my files. We need to expose the aviation sector better overseas. Many people don't know much of the ABC Islands; Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao. Aruba of course is a very popular Tourism vacation destination, but Curacao is fast becoming a heaven for European Tourists.
