Blue Bird Flight Academy - Latest update

Hi friends,

Does anyone have personal experience with Blue Bird Flight Academy in British Columbia? Ive been looking for posts regarding it and couldnt find much of it that am looking for. Somebody out there pls help me on this as am planning to join BBFA. Will it be a good choice that Ive made? Need some professional counseling. Thanks.

Does this place have any relation to the Blue Bird Flight Accademy that was in London Ontario a few years ago?

I would suggest you Google them, it seems they have an "interesting" history of failed flight schools in Ontario, try contacting the Better business bureau in London Ontario, they might help you decide.

I won't speak any negative thing about Blue Bird - but I would suggest you to look for another school - i.e Harv's Air, Toronto Airways.

Best of luck

I have not been involved with the BC version of BBFA but was involved with their operation in Ontario before it folded up it's tent and moved on.
I knew many of the instructors and some of the students through my involvement as a pilot examiner and have nothing bad to say about them but I have nothing good to say about the owners. Their treatment of the foreign students was disgraceful. Google is your friend do your research and stay far away from these reptiles.

I do not have any experience with them as a flight school. The only information that I can add is that they have previously spammed the comments on my blog. The only other entities that do that are casinos and pen!s enlargement sites. My thought is that most flights schools would not resort to such actions.

News flash to their web designer. The plural of aircraft is NOT aircrafts! Personally, I'd stay well away from any flight school who dresses like the "Catch Me if You Can" cast! Can you say TACKY? Knew ya could!

I really like this line from their Careers tab: "Commercial Pilot is one the highest paid profession in the modern day world."

Even i was wondering if Blue Bird Flight Academy provides really good training. I spoke to their consultant and they were offering me training for a very cheap price. Is it reliable

One of the things that flying asks of pilots is attention to detail. Small details like spelling the plural of 'aircraft' incorrectly, or saying that they are located in British Colombia, or a host of other small issues with the website, make one wonder about that attention to detail...

^ and ^^ As gigolo77 says, you get what you pay for. It's one thing to keep costs down; another thing altogether to be the cheapest at all costs...

“ I am currently working as a commander in Shenzhen Airline, flying A-320. I joined Blue bird in March 2010 and was able to complete my CPL course with Multi/IFR by Oct 2010. Blue bird provides quality flight training. I wish Blue bird best of luck for their future.
-Shenzhen Airline. ”
An A320 captain after a couple of years? If true, another reason why I would never fly on most Chinese carriers. I am not talking about legitimate cadet programs such as at SG, CX, EK. But if someone's getting their bare CPL in 2010 and then in the left seat of an airliner a few years later, don't even try to sell me a ticket. I call bs.

Commercial Pilot licence in as less as six months
That less, eh?

Earn your wing and follow your dream
Only one?

Asia requires 1,92,000 pilots in the next 18 years
Um, how many?

I'm not one to normally pick on folks' English when it may be their second language, but a site purporting to be a professional business in an English speaking country has to be held to a higher standard.

Comically bad. Is the place even for real?

It gets better!

Never heard of them before, but I couldn't resist taking a peek at their website.

We have a well maintained, reliable fleet of aircraft’s certified to provide 24 hour operations.

To the OP. If you're coming from India to Canada for flight training take a look at Harv's in Steinbach Manitoba.

Actually, in India, using "aircrafts" as plural is common. I don't like it, but "they ain't asking me". I assume either the web designer or the management (or both) are from India or the vicinity. Whether they are connected to the notorious operations in Ontario I don't know. I hope not.

Note to students: do not pay for your training in advance, no matter how reputable the operation seems.

The "s" after aircraft is no real biggie.
But as the PP states....NEVER PAY UP FRONT FOR TRAINING!!!! EVER!
