quick question

Me (western European with green card) + my my American wife would love to move to Canada. What does it take for us to get work permits over there? or should we just forget about it. My wife has a masters degree in psychology, and I have about 2500 TT with 1100 Turbine PIC. We are both in our earlie/mid 20's.

second question:

After I obtained immigrant status (if possible at all) is air canada open to foreigners? and what are my chances with them with my times. What about Air Canada Jazz?

Hello

Canadian immigration works on a point system. The more points you have the better your chances. The points are for education, occupation if it is needed in Canada etc.....

Since your wife has a Masters degree you should look to see if she is covered under the NAFTA agreement and if her occupation is considered a scientist. I know of Canadian who are working in the US since they have the Masters degree and fall under the NAFTA agreement. Pilots do not fall under the agreement.
If your wife gets in you can come with her. There are some Canadian immigration web sites that can help.

You would likely need a job offer to qualify for a visa and job offers being difficult to get without the right to work in Canada makes it tough to immigrate here as a pilot.

Your best bet is going through your wife - there are many ways she would probably be able to get a visa with a masters, or if she's planning on a phd maybe she should look into doing it at a canadian school.

Anyway you would have a shot at Jazz with your time - maybe not AC yet but you never know... BTW, you do know about Jazz's pay? I know it sucks for regional stuff in the US too, but seems to be more opportunity there or in Europe...

Also you will need TC licenses to work here. I understand there is a fairly easy conversion now from your US ATPL...
