Hello

Canadian immigration works on a point system. The more points you have the better your chances. The points are for education, occupation if it is needed in Canada etc.....

Since your wife has a Masters degree you should look to see if she is covered under the NAFTA agreement and if her occupation is considered a scientist. I know of Canadian who are working in the US since they have the Masters degree and fall under the NAFTA agreement. Pilots do not fall under the agreement.
If your wife gets in you can come with her. There are some Canadian immigration web sites that can help.
