I've heard that Virgin never offer a job after just one interview. Can anyone dispel this rumour?

beana 31st Aug 2006 13:14

After you have taken part in the assessment day which includes an interview at the end (if you pass all stages), they either offer you the job or write to inform that you have been unsucesseful ...:)

MzGuilty 31st Aug 2006 15:53

Not sure where you got the information that Virgin don't offer a job after just one interview. I attended for the first time earlier this year, and got the job. The two others who were offered the job, were also there for their first interview with Virgin.

We had our assessment and interview one afternoon, and I got my call lunch time the following day.

Good luck, Virgin is a great company to work for. :)

Thats true. I only had one interview with Virgin and got offered the job four days later. x:)

Interview

Hi there, i too have an interview on the 7th of September and would love to hear from anyone else who will be there on that day.

Most of my questions have pretty much been answered :}, but I'm wondering one thing, what are the check in times for Virgin crew? And does anyone know any other (longhaul) airline check in times? The airline i'm working for now has check-in times as early as 3am or coming back from a flight anything in between midnight to 4am.
The reason I'm wondering is cuz I will be commuting by train until i've got my own car. I am looking to live in Brighton area where there's a pretty good train service (only half an hour to LGW) and with crew discount. the first trains leaving at 4am, first ones returning 4:45am am or last one from Brighton leaving 11:37pm or last ones returning at 1:45am

is this feasable with current check in times?
Cheers! :ok:

Quick question...

Does anyone know if EVERYONE gets a second interview now or not? It used to be that only the 'chosen ones' got through to the second part of the day but I've recently heard that now everyone gets the chance to have a 2-2-1 interview, is this correct?

Not everyone gets a chance at the 2:1. If you fail the english or the maths you don't get a 2:1. When i went three people (out of 10) didn't get the interview...but, not sure weather that was due to failing the maths or english or just because they weren't what they were looking for. (if you get me!)It could be that if you pass both tests you get the inerview no matter what, rather than even if you pass they may still not want to interview you. We weren't told why they didn't get it. I reckon its a mixture of both...

Hope that makes sense for one thing and helps for another!
Good luck!

The english test involves them giving you a sheet of information (mine was a story about this woman who was afraid of flying and how she got over that etc). Then you have a sheet with multiple choice questions about what you have just read. The questions are specific ones.. more like what was the flight number? What was the service agent called? How many days before the woman flew again? So, when you are reading the sheet remember all the little details...
Good luck :)

Can someone set the record straight for me will be much appreciated.

If there is still a maths test (hoping there is not) could you let me know guidelines so i can prepare myself.

Hi mafgirl,

The earliest check in time at LHR & LGW is 07:30am. All LGW flights land back in the morning and the latest flight landing at LHR is around 20:00hrs.

Virgin do run a crew shuttle coach service between LGW and LHR at about hourly intervals so not having a car shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Hi Hayley moss,

Lots of Virgin crew commute from all over the UK, Europe and even further afield. Most people wait until they've completed their 6 months probation so they can use staff travel concessions.

Good luck with your course.
