Advice from the experienced please

Hi

Please can some one give me a typical months rosta as i was hoping to return to virgin after 6yrs off to have my family and have found out today that they dont recruit for part-time CC, they will only offer PT to returning to work mums who have been on maternity leave.
I want to try and find out if it's possible for me to work full time and it not dissrupt my little one too much! i remember i used to do 4-5 flights a month depending on the destination but it was so long ago it's a little shady!
Hope you can help.

Kind Regards
Jayne

Hi Jayne,

A typical roster has 5-6 flights. We also have monthly standby now (4 months over a 3 year period).

Hope this helps. Feel free to PM me with any other questions :)

Roster

Hello High as a kite! How long are the flights roughly and how many days off do you get roughly a month? Thanks!

High as a Kite 23rd Jul 2006 19:34

Hi Bubblybabe1,

Flight times vary between 6 and 13 hours, the shortest routes being Lagos and Dubai and the longest being Tokyo, Shanghai and Hong Kong.

You are guaranteed a minimum of 9 days off every month.

Hope this helps.

Cheers HaaK

Virgin E-Learning Help!!

Please help!!

I start with Virgin on the 14th of August and have been sent the e-learning pack which i need to do before i start. I cant get on to the Induction course for some reason so am going to call them tomorrow, but i have attempted to start the Cabin Safety Training... and here lies my problems!! :uhoh:

In the pack it says we need to achieve at least 80% in the e-learning, but does this mean only for the 'Flight Safety Knowledge Test' module which is near the end, or do all the questions asked througout all the modules count towards your final mark?? Im confused as they ask you questions throughout every module without giving you the knowledge to answer them correctly in the learning beforehand. They are true or false answers, but sometimes cover elements that have not previously been discussed in the module. I got some wrong on these and am worried they count towards the final mark. :ugh:

If anyone could help me with this id really appreciate it! I cant believe i may have messed this up already!! :{

is it true that everyone gets a 121 interview now? I've heard this recently but didn't know if it was 100% correct....

MillyMoo 24th Jul 2006 18:10

On my interview day everyone who passed the english and maths tests were given a 2-1 interview x

Hi MillyMoo,

I've no idea how the e-learning is assessed, as it was all slates and chalk when I joined, none of this new fangled computer stuff

My advice would be to call the training department. They are really helpful and will unravel the mysteries of e-learning for you.

Good luck with your course starting on August 14th :ok:

MzGuilty 24th Jul 2006 19:22

There are a number of different modules on the e-learning, and you have to achieve 80% in all of them. I think there are four or five if I remember correctly. At the end of each one you pass, you print off a certificate to prove you have achieved the pass park for the e-learning. I agree that they seem to ask questions not covered in the e-learning! You aren't tested on this when you start, but the trainers know who has completed it, how long it took and the mark each person achieved. This does not go towards your final marks, as you are tested each day throughout training, where the pass mark is 88%. It is important you complete the e-learning though.

I forgot a lot of it by the time I started. Some of the questions do crop up in the daily tests.

Good luck. :ok:
