Unvaccinated cabin crew entry to USA

Are unvaccinated air crew members allowed entry to the US?

Updated Nov. 5, 2021

Air Crew Members

The Presidential Proclamation and CDC’s Order do not apply to crew members of airlines or other aircraft operators if such crewmembers and operators adhere to all industry standard protocols for the prevention of COVID-19 as set forth in relevant guidance for crewmember health issued by the CDC or by the Federal Aviation Administration in coordination with the CDC. Please see the Technical Instructions for more information.

Thanks DIBO. But i think that only applies to US citizens from what i can see? I am a British citizen,UK based.
just wondering if any fellow UK based crew have been allowed entry to countries requiring full vaccination from passengers??

A non-thread.

Get the vaccine and stop being selfish.

I knew this would turn into a 'just get vaxxed' debate.

Not that it is anyones business, but I am breastfeeding my baby and don't wish to get the jab until this ceases.

So i begin again... can anyone advise if they have entered the USA unvaccinated, as an air crew member. Please do share your experience.

I don't need any replies regarding a) breastfeeding or b) getting vaccinated. Thanks.

From what I understand the exemptions to the Presidential proclamation which Trump introduced for 'essential workers' still applies to Airline crews. I.e. You can travel to the US on a Gen Dec ONLY without having to prove vaccination status.

How long this 'loophole' will remain is to be seen though.

Well worth checking the validity with crewing before you go though.

HTH.

(enjoy the kids when they're young! It's remarkably true when people say they grow up quickly!)

How long do you intend to be breastfeeding? Six months is the average and up to a year so then you can get your jab.
I assume you can also fly to other destinations other than the USA?
Also, the jabs help you in case you GET Covid. Strange if you get it and are too poorly to look after your child.
Bet you wish you’d had them when you’re ok hospital.

Two questions:

1: Do antibodies in the bloodstream make it to the breast milk and if so why is that bad?

2. What is the baby fed when you’re out working? Breast milk from a bottle, yeah like that’s so different.

Couldn’t help but get those two jabs in.
But I’m mansplaining here so feel free to disregard.
I feel it is irresponsible to deal with the general public in a confined space and not be vaccinated.

To be honest I can fully understand the maternal instinct in this question and I do understand it as, what I personally consider, a valid reason to wait for vaccination.

The 'restricts my rights', 'CONvid 19', 'Plandemic', 'My body my rights' etc. etc. etc. definitely not.

As long as the person tests before work I don't see an issue, IMVHO of course.

Well for what it's worth, I've been flying in and out of the US dozens of times as crew this whole time (cargo airline) and have never been asked once for vaccination proof at the border, entering at 5 or 6 different airports.

Just give the passport, they tap away on the PC, four fingers and thumb on the scanner, "anything to declare?" then on your way to the hotel.....

One thing to consider is once here in many 'Destination' states you'll need to prove Vx status to enter many establishments. -Bars, restaurants etc....

And what expert advice has told you breastfeeding means don’t get vaccinated?

Not entirely true, several countries demand vaccination status at immigration (Mauritius springs to mind) If ONE of the crew is not fully vaccinated then the WHOLE crew is confined to their rooms instead of being free to roam. Your freedom and choice not to have a free vaccine thus affects the freedoms and choice of your entire crew.

Just get vaccinated, protect the most vulnerable in society and leave conspiracy theories and global/local politics out of it.
