Well, to be honest Fernytickles, I would ask myself..."What would make me get on board a plane again....?" Look at the minus points first. I hate the time one has to spend in the airport, the struggle to get to the carousel for the luggage and sometimes, the distance one has to go from check in to boarding gate! On board, its gets worse. With considerable arthritis and an alimentary disorder,to sit for so long in such a small seat...in a bank of five seats! No way. Then, the limited toilets on board. I have to say...the last time I flew any appreciable distance the cabin crew came to my rescue with appropriate seat location and the odd word of chivvy to say,"Yes go on, have a walk up and down then try this exercise..." Without sounding simplistic, some of the airlines have cabin crew who make it their personal task to say..."Hey,...I,m here to ensure you enjoy the flight". Not all though. The highest level of stress I encountered was in the short haul teams. They appear to have very little leeway in time and a bucket full of negatives to deal with...the family from hell on a cheap, "one weeks half board with chips". The boozers, jokers, toilet hoggers....you name it! Remember one young lady who on doing the pre-take off seat check as I sat with a seat space in front by the exit door said,"Sir, pull your feet in and put them under your seat...that,s an emergency exit door!"

So, I don,t think airlines are going to take step back to make the aircraft...more comfortable, well situated with toilet facilities and a reasonable amount of seat space....AND...comfortable seats!....and.....in banks of no more than three. That being the case, I would suggest they look after their cabin crew as they are the frontline troops that take all the krap the paying public will dish out. Just my opinion of course.
