WOW
WOW Highsky24 that's fab news - you must be really happy
You must have been very surprised to hear today - I called them back this morining and left a message on the voicemail. Did you catch the name of the person you spoke to? What did they say to you?
They didn't give anything away in the voicemail message they left me so I'm getting really nervous now. What time did they call you?
Does anyone know if different people work on different days?
Wish I'd answered my phone yesterday now and not been in a meeting!!! Arggh

Naddy1983, I actually missed the call first, on the voicemail she said she would be there for another hour so to call back either today or tomorrow, luckily she was still there when i called back, i cant really remember much of what she said cuz i was too excited! she said that i would get an email in a few days with forms i need to fill out etc and medicals, she was really nice and said to contact her if i had any questions etc.
- Cantwait - i will be flying from birmingham yeah, she asked me that on the phone.
Genevieve - we will have to keep in touch with each other, hey who knows we may even end up being in the same apartment!

September Recruitment
Hi Akwasi2007
Have you registered your CV on www.ekgroup.com under the cabin crew recruitment section? If not I would recommend you do,thats what I did. That way you know that your information has been looked at in a bit more detail, rather than just handing in your CV at a global assessment where potentially there will be hundreds of candidates and your CV (resume) is only given a fleeting glance. As far as have they stopped recruiting goes, I really wouldn't know but even if they have put a hold on assessments for September I'm sure it won't be long before they start recruiting again. Go for it!

Missed the call AGAIN!!
Aargggh! I just missed a call from Emirates again when in work and they're now closed. They said in the first message they wouldn't be in until sunday - very confused.
They sent an e-mail asking me to call them. I will be getting up VERY early tomorrow morning to try and catch them.
Very anxious

How frustrating you must be on tentahooks! I'm almost 100% sure its 'The golden call' If it was just further info surely they would just leave a voicemail message. Also Highsky24 got her call on friday and another girl from the Birmingham assessment as you know, so they seem to be working through the group.. How exciting I've got everything crossed for you, keep us updated

Emirates interview
so i have been invited to attend the assessment day in Dublin .
just a few questions about the interview ans what the are looking for
1) i know a lot of people have height issues that they are to short but i'm 6'2 is there a limit on height for been to tall ?
2) what is the process like eg stage 1 stage 2 etc etc of the interview.
3) i'm irish but i speak French would that be classed as an advantage and if so will i be asked question in French ? and would this help my application ?
4) dental check, Do they do a dental exam on the day or is that included with all the medicals , because i have a few fillings to get , but i have a missing tooth to the right hand side of my mouth ,which is visible if you look closely, and if i get accepted will i have to pay for that or will they pay for it ?
5) i heard they ask you read aloud in front of them and get you to summarize after , i can understand them asking to explain it , but why do they want to hear you read?
6) as i work for an airline now at the moment will take help with with my interview , do they tend to take on ex cabin crew someone told me that it would be classed as a disadvantage because of habits crew tend to pick up in the trade which would affect a person giving the high standard of service which is given in EK ?
8) what are the interviewer like ? I'm nervous about this job becoz i want it so bad and i just don't want to mess it up . do they allow for nerves?
9) i'm a guy ! do they tend to take on more girls?
I'm sure people here are sick of answering similar questions but this job would make my life . so please all the information would be so grateful

YAY!!! Well done & congrats You must feel amazing! I'm sure you feel it was worth the 2 days of agony trying to get back in touch with them now! Just the medicals to sort out now.... the easy part in comparison! Well enjoy the rest of your day and hopefully Cardiff is like Birmingham today with glorious blue skys and sunshine (the summer finally!) As ever keep posting

Hi irishcabincrew,
Not aware of a maximum height limit being in place. There were at least 2 very tall girls who got through when I was assessed so whether that sets a precedent I don't know, but in general you expect guys to be taller than girls anyway.
The assessment day is group activities.
Speaking a second language is definitely an advantage due the diversity of emirates pax. Don't think that they check your fluency.
No dental examination at the assessment stage.
Previous experience has surely got to be a desirable asset however, I think its how you come across aswell. If you look around this forum there are lots of people who had never been cabin crew before joining emirates.
When I was assessed it was a 50/50 split ex crew or current against non crew selected for final interview; 2 of which were guys.
I think any good interviewer will try to make you feel at ease (and they do) to get the best out of you, after all their job is to get as many suitable people into the role as possible.
Hope this helps and good luck

Are you travelling on October 12th? I've been given my start date today for then. Where are you flying from? Us too stressheads who miss the call (several times) could be flying together.
Let me know.

Check out the post by motherhen a few days ago with reference to the medical.
Photo wise they tell you that they have to be taken by a professional photographer (although a few people on here have posted that they took them at home with a digital camera) I had mine done professionally just in case! and they cost me £30. They tell you not to spend a fortune because the biggest size you will need is a 6x4.
